The United States is planning to invest $150 million to train moderate to high-skilled occupants who have an H-1B visa. The training will be provided to individuals working in core sectors including IT (Information Technology).



The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa which is granted to foreign employees by United States companies for speciality occupations requiring technical/ theoretical competence. Through this visa, each year the tech-giants hire thousands of employees from countries like China and India. The foremost sectors are cybersecurity, information technology, transportation and advanced manufacturing, as per the reports of the Department of Labor.



The aim of the H-1B One Workforce Training Programme is to educate and train the already employed workforce and the new generation to enhance the future workforce. In this programme, the Employment and Training Administration Department has regulated well-organized resources and funding to invigorate more integrated workforce system.
