Mr. V.Ramgopal Rao, IIT Delhi Director, said that there could be serious repercussions for further delaying the JEE and NEET exams as coronavirus is going to last for at least a year. This will affect not only the academic calendar but also the career of the students, he added.

He said on a social media post, "We have already lost six months. If we conduct the exams in September, we can at least start the session in IITs in December. Tinkering with the examination process in these times will also be detrimental and unfair for everyone".

He also said that it will be hard to run two batches together and will affect the students' performance in case the exams got cancelled since the academic calendars are already linked and packed with too many other things.

He also appealed to the candidates to trust the institutions and appear for the entrance exams as there will be strict safety guidelines to follow.

The Ministry of Education officials also announced that the exams will be conducted as scheduled. The JEE Mains is scheduled to held from 01 Sept. to 06 Sept. and NEET is scheduled for 13 Sept.
