The Maharashtra Government is providing online education to special students in training centers and special schools across the state amid the pandemic and the same has also been notified to the Bombay High Court.



The information was provided by the government in the answer to the filed petition which was concerned for the education of the specially-abled students.



Joint Secretary of Social Justice and Special Assistance Department Dinesh Dingle said, "Sice the COVID-19 situation is still not under control and in absence of a vaccine, it would not be possible to hold physical classes for specially-abled students".



The online education has been made available from Disha application since 15 June 2020. The Jay Vakeel Educational and Research Institution has been appointed as the nodal agency for digital education.



The education is also being provided through social media apps like Zoom meeting, WhatsApp, Google Meet and educators are making efforts for home-visits, video conferencing as well.
