UGC unveils fake universities of India, published a list of twenty-four such universities; no tangible means to restrain the hazard.

Whilst the government has been taking every possible step to make the higher education easily accessible say by providing graded autonomy, or by maintaining and establishing new Institutions of eminence, but somehow it is still unable to regulate the hoax institutions running all over the nation. University Grants Commission (UGC)  recently released a list of such institutions making the matter more dire.

Twenty four such universities got exposed as soon as apex higher education regulatory body listed them as “fake” in their recent research. The UGC has been working upon it for years, and every year they come up with a new list of such institutions and its even surprising that despite all the efforts, the number of fake universities has been increased only especially since 2015. Uttar Pradesh has been marked as the state with the maximum number of fake institutions, followed by Delhi. States like Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, Pondicherry, West Bengal and Orissa are also a part of the list.

The latest entry to the list is Delhi-based institution run by self-styled spiritual guru- Virender Dev Dixit, who had been into controversies since long, and has absconded after being claimed for sexual exploitations of women resident students, the matter emerged as hot potato last year. The institute is named as 'Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalaya'.

The parents and students have been forewarned by the UGC against these institutions. UGC stated that these varsities have been operating in violation of the UGC act and have been declared as hoax.
