Amazon India is launching an Integrated Learning Programme to learn applied ML (Machine Learning) skills. The programme, ML Summer School, is being launched to make students industry ready for new technology careers.
The programme has been introduced to train students in Machine Learning and to address the increasing demand for this skill set by various companies and industries, stated Amazon India.
The curriculum of the programme will cover Machine Learning's fundamental concepts and the ways to link these concepts to practical industry applications through an immersive 03-day course, it added.
The participation of the students in the ML Summer School will be identified through an online evaluation.
The program is open for pre-final/final year engineering students in Bachelors, Masters or PhD courses across selected tech campuses including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad, National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, Birla Institute of Technology (BITS) and Anna University among others.
Under the programme, the students will get to learn about the advanced ML techniques like Probabilistic Graphical Models, Deep Learning which can be used to solve specific business issues in the e-commerce area such as demand forecasting, product recommendations, catalogue quality, search ranking and online advertising.
The students will also have access to the ARD (Amazon Research Days) conference, where they can experience prominent ML leaders' presentations from across the world and learn about the technology trends in industry.
Amazon India also informed the selected batch from tech campuses in India will be provided the opportunity to engage through digital classroom tutorials, followed by interactive Question & Answer sessions with Amazon scientists.
The VP of India Machine Learning at Amazon Rajeev Rastogi said that they are, with the development pace in Machine Learning, are foresightedily helping students to learn the latest trends in the stream of ML.
The aim of the programme is to prepare students to reduce the gap between the talent pool and the growing demand for ML roles across companies, said Rastogi.
