The Central Board of Secondary Education has informed that the tabulation portal to moderate Class 11 and Class 12 marks will be activated from July 16. The schools can check the portal by visiting the official website at cbse.gov.in.

The board informed the affiliated schools through a letter regarding the activation of the portal for the declaration of results by July 31. The portal will remain active from July 16 till July 22, 2021.

The Board directed the schools to moderate the marks that have been uploaded according to the reference year data bank within the 07-day window.

The letter also states that the results of the schools which incomplete the moderation within the stipulated time will be released separately after July 31.

The main objective is to declare "valid, reliable and unbiased results" of the students, reiterated CBSE.

To assist the schools, the Board has provided marks, including marks' distribution, on the basis of the best performance in the previous 03 years, to consider as reference for the moderation purpose.

To ensure fairness and comparability, the schools should exercise due diligence and make sure that there is no bunching of total scores in the range of 95 and above. They must restrict the students' number at each level of overall marks from 95 and above, to make sure that this number is less than the students' number scoring these overall marks, according to the best performance of the last 03 years, informed the board.

CBSE also assisted schools by providing them with the broad pattern of distribution of the total marks of the students.
