Finally, the first seven day-long International Education Conference has concluded. It was conducted by the Delhi Government with the motive to enhance teacher training and reduce the dropout rates as well. Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was an important part of this meeting. The state government discussed how they can enhance the Teacher Training and strengthen up the School Management Committee. Now, the management and the state government have decided to work upon introducing an interactive curriculum.

While discussing, the education minister stated that our council is already working towards introducing a new curriculum and a new state board. He added that they want to examine the students graduating from the schools and willing to check their thoughts on religion, caste, creed, gender partiality, corruption, environment, honest governance, and other issues. He added that along with providing education, we should work on the mindset of the students.

Why Students Dropping Out Of Schools…

Along with this, he also added the issue of students dropping out of the schools. While talking regarding the same, he added, we need to consider the students or struggling children who left their education due to some situation and understood how their skills could get trained, and they can get particular support.

Reforms Initiated By AP Government Discussed:

There were 22 education experts present from India and other countries, including Canada, Singapore, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, USA, United Kingdom, and others in this seven daylong conference. On the last day of the conference, the education minister of Andhra Pradesh also attended and highlighted the reforms initiated by the Andhra Pradesh Government. He also invited the Delhi education team to visit Andhra Pradesh and look at the policies they decided.

In the past 19 months, the Andhra Pradesh Government has located around 18% of the Education Department's total budget. The state government did some key reforms in the southern state by including bilingual textbooks to class sixth and taking proper measures to improve the monitoring and regulating mechanism.

Create A Better Education System For India

Along with this, Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that all the state education ministers should work together to create a better education system for India. He added that he would be glad to learn from Andhra Pradesh Government how they are regulating the system and preparing the reformed structure of workers.

Along with this, there were some other major pointers discussed in the conference, like the link between education reforms and politics, building up of administrative tools so that teacher training can be supported. Also, a long discussion has been done on how the heavy content-based syllabus can be removed by introducing an interactive curriculum.

Gap Between The Parents And SMC Needed To Be Filled Up:

During the conference, some major pointers were discussed, like setting up a cadre of specialist teachers, shared lesson planning, a collaboration of professionals, providing teachers with agency and autonomy, and increased interaction with the parents. Such pointers were considered beneficial to improve school education and enhance the level of learning as well. Further, Chief Minister Manish Sisodia added that their major focus is towards bridging the gap between the parents and SMC so that the parent participation can get enhanced.

Low 9th Class percentage:

Along with this, the findings on the low class 9 pass percentage were also given utmost importance. From 2013-14 onwards, there has been a progressive decline in class 9th students' pass percentage. It is important to take a look over it and work on it seriously. The government is taking serious steps towards the same.

Mr. Rajendra Prasad, Principal Secretary, further added that the national capital was a fertile ground to implement the National Education Policy 2020. He said that there are lots of aspects from NEP already covered in Delhi's education reforms. Now, it is high time to focus on interactive teaching rather than on examination-oriented teaching and rote learning. It is important to transform the country's educational landscape and lead the children and teachers towards a bright future.

Finally…

So now, finally, as the conference is over. It can be concluded that the major focus is towards bringing up the gap between the school management committee and parents along with improving the participation of teachers and students towards our learning. Apart from that, the state government will now definitely work seriously to reduce the dropout rates of students. The past years are not proved to be so amazing when it comes to students' passing grades of class 9th and other standards. We are hoping that this ceremony will prove beneficial for the students, parents, and teachers.
