The Delhi Govt has launched the 'Education Mentoring Programme' for girls studying in Delhi govt schools from Class 09 to Class 12. Under the programme, these girl students from Class 09 to Class 12 will be mentored by more than 200 students from Indira Gandhi Technological University for Women.

This programme has been launched by the Delhi Government through its 'Youth for Education' initiative which aims at mentoring girls studying in Class 09 to 12.

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, informed that these students will be mentored by the BTech, MTech, MBA, and PhD students of the university. Initially, 1000 students will be mentored by the 200 students.

He added that the world has become a knowledge economy with innovation and research rapidly becoming crucial to progress. He further added that India is seeing some major innovations in each and every field, mostly led by men and the women's participation is not as much as men especially in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

He assured that this programme aims at empowering Delhi students in the fields of STEM.

Under the programme, each mentor will guide 05 girl students studying in Class 09 to Class 12. These mentors will help in clearing their career-related doubts, share strategies to clear entrance exams, support them to access learning resources and motivate them for their future.
