Haryana Govt's Initiative: Distributing Free Tablets To 8.06 Lakh Students

The Haryana Government is planning to distribute free-of-cost tablets to 8.06 lakh students. The free tablets will be provided to Class 08 to Class 12 students studying in govt's schools, as notified by the Education Minister of Haryana Kanwar Pal at a press conference.

The government is planning to spend more than Rs.500 crore on this project to enhance the online education facilities as COVID has impacted the education of the children severely.

Pal also informed that the tablets will be distributed to all the students of these four classes studying from Haryana govt schools irrespective of their financial/ family background. The CM has approved the expenditures and the tenders will be floated soon, added Pal.

He further added that the govt has taken the decision keeping in mind the current scenario of mandatory computer knowledge as there is a huge number of students who can't afford tablets/ computers. To boost their confidence, the government has taken this decision.

Pal, regarding the conduction of Class 12 board exams, said that the govt will act according to the Ministry of Education's orders. At present, the Haryana govt is prepared to hold 03-hour exams keeping the safety of the students in mind, reported Education Minister Pal.
