Idea Spark 2021-22: Online Competition To Seek Innovative Ideas

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the multinational IT firm Capgemini are organizing an online competition, 'Idea Spark 2021-2022', to seek innovative ideas related to engineering technologies from the students of the polytechnic college.

The CSIE (Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship) is coordinating the competition. The CSIE focuses on teaching and research pertinent to social enterprise in India.

The online registration has been started and the last date for submission is Aug 21, 2021.

The objective of the competition is to support polytechnic students recommending ideas that will result in livelihood enhancement among artisan, and farmers communities. The students' ideas will then be converted into technologies to promote their livelihood.

The top two innovative ideas will be granted Rs. 50,000 worth of prize money each. They will also receive mentor support from IIT-Madras and CSIE to further develop their prototype. All participants will also be awarded a 'Participation certificate'.

The students studying in second and third-year polytechnic colleges are eligible to participate. The maximum members allowed per group is 04. The ideas can be from an institution or group and must not be related to IoT, AI & IT.

The project coordinator of CSIE - IIT Madras R Nagarajan said, "IDEA SPARK, in particular, has been very successful over the years in motivating college students to ideate and innovate in this context".
