A team representing the IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Bombay has won the International Aerial Robotics Competition-Simulation Challenge 2020. The Unmesh Mashruwala Innovation Cell' team, AeRoVe, which was representing the Institute has secured first rank across the globe, as per reports.

IIT Bombay informed regarding the news from its official Twitter handle and said, "We are delighted to announce that AeRoVe from the UMIC represented IIT Bombay at the International Aerial Robotics Competition - Simulation Challenge 2020, and after a long and arduous journey, secured the first position globally".

The Competition is the leading and most secured collegiate aerial robotics challenge in the world. Its purpose is to present state-of-the-art aerial robotics at front by creating useful and significant mission challenges that are considered unfeasible at the time. Several teams from across the top colleges of the world participate in this challenge.

The Coordinator of UMIC Harshal Kataria informed that the winning team was established for the competition only. He further added that teams were required to complete autonomous tasks within the specified time limit. The teams were required to complete their entire mission under a stimulation environment, he reported.
