IIT In Collaboration With IISc Launching Programmes On EVs & IoTs

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning has launched new programmes through the Swayam platform. The new programmes are Design for IoT, Electric Vehicle and Renewable Energy, and Business and Sustainable Development.

The NPTEL, a joint initiative of IITs and IISc, is offering over 500 programmes free of cost in online mode to learners across the nation.

The enrolments for the session of July-Dec 2021 have started and the last date for the enrollment is Aug 02, 2021.

The NPTEL Coordinator at IIT Madras Vignesh Muthuvijayan informed that the SWAYAM-NPTEL is working with over 4000 educational institutions in Science, Engineering, Commerce, Arts and Management across the nation. The Data Science for Engineering, Programming in Python, C & C++, Soft Skills, Machine Learning, Project planning and Control are some of the popular courses available on NPTEL, added Muthuvijayan.

The certification courses are being offered by NPTEL through MOOCs format. The students learn through online videos, online assignment submission on weekly/ monthly basis, and they can opt for an optional proctored final exam. The registration for the proctored exam can be done in online mode and a nominal fee is charged for the certification.

The students can also request to transfer their credits after clearing the certification exam.

Till date, over 1.4 crore enrollments have been made in the NPTEL.
