The Indira Gandhi Peace Prize 2019 has been presented by Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Sir David Attenborough, the British Broadcaster. He also described as the "Human Voice of Nature". He is known for his work 'The Living Planet' series.



The award is presented each year by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust on the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister. The award is presented to individuals/ institutions to recognise the inventive efforts towards promoting international development and peace corroborating that the scientific discoveries should be utilized for the greater good of humanity.



The award was first presented in 1986 and the award carries a prize of 25 lakh and a commendation. UNICEF in 1989, Secretary-General of UN Kofi Annan in 2003, ISRO in 2014 are some of the past recipients of the awards.
