Dr. Zakir Husain Library includes thousands of e-Journals, e-Books, and e-Databases along with considerable resources delivered by the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium of INFLIBNET Centre. E-Library Mobile Application will enable smooth and uninterrupted free pass to information anytime, anywhere, to the bonafide users of the library.
The second service introduced during the programme, the Automated In/Out Attendance System of Library Users, is innovative as it has substituted the earlier approach of a manual attendance system while in and out of the library. Library users have honored their experience of a fast and hassle-free attendance process using bar code technology.
Dr. Sufian Ahmad, the officiating librarian, received the registrar and other dignitaries. He also informed them about the exhibition and the new services delivered by the library.
Professor Al-Jafri inaugurated the exhibition in the company of the deans, faculty members, staff, directors, and students. The exhibition comprises a rare collection of manuscripts of the Holy Quran dating back to the 15th century. These manuscripts illustrated diverse calligraphic styles like Nasq, Shikasta scripts, Nastaliq, and Muhaqqaq.
The exhibition displays infrequently publicized translations of the Holy Quran in different Indian languages, such as Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, and international languages, including French, Japanese, Russian, German, etc.
The registrar complimented the University Librarian and his team for continuously presenting value-added services to its users. He added that the users should use the library resources and services for their educational objectives. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sufian Ahmad.
