The UGC (University Grants Commission) will pay out the pending amounts of scholarships to JRF (Junior Research Fellows) and SRF (Senior Research Fellows) within a week, as notified by the Officials of the UGC.

Rajnish Jain, Secretary of UGC, notified that the delay in disbursal was caused due to some technical issues.

He further added, "The technical issues which had delayed the disbursal have been resolved and along with the existing emoluments, the backlog would also be cleared and the fellowships would be deposited in the respective accounts within this week".

The UGC's JRF scheme is for candidates who qualify the NET (National Eligibility Testing) and the UGC-CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) joint test. The fellowship's tenure is for two years in initial period.

An SRF scholar receiver Rs. 28,000/ month scholarship whereas a JRF scholar receive Rs. 31,000/ month.
