Overview
The Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE), also known as C1 Advanced, is an English Test for candidates who have the skills to make the most of studying, working and living in English-speaking countries. CAE being one of the most popular exams of the Cambridge English that ensures the applicant has in-depth & high level knowledge of the language, and also the required language skills that universities and employers are looking for. This test is considered a C1 Advanced level qualification in English.

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) Selection Procedure: There are four sections of the CAE test:

Reading and Use of English

Writing
-
Listening
-
Speaking
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) Exam Pattern:
The test is conducted in both modes i.e. in Online as well as Offline. The total time duration of the test is about 04 hours. The test is conducted monthly but not one institute administers both types of tests. The level of the exam is C1/Advanced.

Age criteria: There is no age limit.

Educational Criteria: Candidates studying in 12th apply for the test wishing to apply for undergraduate in the US, UK, Canada & other countries

- Speaking:

Speaking test is done between two candidates and two examiners examine them out of which only one participant in the conversation.

1st part is a short question-answer between an applicant(each applicant) and an examiner.
-
2nd part is Visual looking session and discussing it with each candidate.

3rd part is a two-way conversation between the candidates.
-
4th part is a discussion between the candidates regarding the conversation (Part 3).
-
Candidates are judged as per their pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, grammar and interactive communication of the language.

Ques 1. What is the purpose of the CAE test?
Ans. The purpose of the test is to ensure that the applicant has in depth & high level knowledge of the language and the required language skills that universities and employers are looking for. It is also considered as the logical step in the language learning journey between B2 First and C2 Proficiency.
Ques 2. What is the difficulty level of the test?
Ans. The difficulty level of the test is C1 Advanced so that after acquiring the certificate applicants can apply for the professional English qualification.
Ques 3. What are the scores for the test?
Ans. Following are the scores:

A, B, C are considered to pass

D, E or U are considered to fail

CAE qualifiers are accepted for entry to some Universities.

Candidates receive a certificate if the performance ranges between CEFR Levels B2 and C2.

If a candidate does not pass, but still does reasonably well a B2 certificate is issued.

Ans. The tests are conducted at designated test centers.
Ques 5. How must does it cost to appear in CAE?
Ans. Fees are set by Test Centres but in general, it is around 150 euros.
Ques 6. What is the scoring ranges for the CAE exam?
Ans. Scores for the FCE exam range from 180 to 199.
Ques 7. How long is the Cambridge certificate test valid for?
Ans. There is no such restrictions for Cambridge tests (KET, PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE).
