Overview

BITS Pilani conducts the BITSAT exam online for admissions in UG and integrated first year programmes such as - B.E., B.Pharm. The exam tests the knowledge, analytical and reasoning abilities in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Logical Reasoning, and English. BITS accepts the SAT & SAT Subject Tests for Foreign students.

One of the first six institutes to be awarded the status of the Institute of Eminence, Birla Institute of Technology & Science is a private institute of higher education and a deemed university. It is established across 4 campuses i.e. Pilani, Hyderabad, Goa, and Dubai and has 15 academic departments. BITS conducts the all-India entrance examination called the BITS Admission Test and the admission procedure is entirely merit-based. 

Conducting Body: BITSAT, also known as Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test, is a National-level Entrance exam. The exam is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology & Science for admission to programs offered at BITS campuses. The exam is conducted Annually and in Online mode.

Selection Procedure: There is only one stage in BITSAT for candidates to qualify for admission:

  • Objective Test

Exam Pattern: The examination is conducted Online and contains MCQ type questions. The time limit of the examination is three hours. The question paper is based on the English Language only. The question paper comprises of  Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Logical Reasoning and English. The following table explains the exam pattern in detail:-

Note:- There is a provision of Negative Marking. 1 mark from the total allotted mark gets deducted for each wrong answer.

Eligibility:

- Age Limit:-

  • No age limit. But the candidates who have passed the 10+2 in the same year of appearing the BITSAT or studying in 10+2 are eligible for the test.

- Educational Qualification:-

  • Must have passed 10+2 from a recognized State or Central board.

  • Must have passed 10+2  with 75% aggregate score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology and must have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  • Should have adequate proficiency in English.

Ans. Application payment can be made in online mode through Debit/Credit, Net Banking and offline through cash payment at all ICICI Bank branches in India with a specially generated Pay-in Slip. The Pay-in Slip can be downloaded from the website. For Foreign students, payment can be done through International Credit Cards/Debit Cards using Online Payment Gateway.

Ans. No. There is no such provision.

Ans. For BITSAT the selection is done through the Written Test.
