Chartered accountants (CA) are the professionals who are endowed with trust and responsibility acting as expertise responsible for various financial activities under the companies. CA - CPT examination is organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. This exam is usually held twice every year in the month of June and December. Candidates can register after class 10th and 12th. A Candidate who has passed higher qualifications than 10th class such as B.Com, M.Com, MBA, LL.B., CS, ICWA and pass CA-CPT Exam to join the Chartered Accountancy Course.
The CA courses at ICAI are as under:

This exam is the 1st stage of CA. The path to become CA, the candidate starts with an Aptitude Test i.e. held every year. It is a common proficiency test that finds a capable candidate in the 4 areas i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Law, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. If a candidate qualifies for the CPT test then he/she is eligible to write the IPCC exam that is conducted in two sessions.

Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test (CA CPT) Exam Pattern:
The CPT (Common Proficiency Test) is the first level of Chartered Accountant examination in India. This exam is an Objective type exam and consists of 200 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions). The examination is directed in Offline mode (Pencil Paper mode). The language medium of question paper is in Hindi or English. This exam covers four basic subjects divided into two sections. The exam is a 4 hours test comprising two sessions of 2 hours each with a break between two sessions. The exam is based on Objective type questions with 0.25 negative marking for incorrect answers. There are 4 sections of examination with 200 aggregate marks which are mentioned below:

Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test (CA CPT) Eligibility Criteria:

There is no age limit for the Candidate to become eligible for the CA-CPT.

There are Negative marking schemes with 0.25 for incorrect answers.

The Candidate must have passed Class 10th and Class 12th or equivalent in Commerce Stream
-
The Candidate who has completed the B.Com or M.Com with at least 55% marks need not appear in the CPT 2020 Examination.

If the candidates who passed or pursue Under Graduate / Post Graduate Degree from Open University are not eligible to appear in the CA-CPT examination.

Ques 1. What is the CA-CPT Examination?
