Overview
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), established in 1929, is an autonomous body responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India. ICAR reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and the Union Minister of Agriculture serves as its president. It is considered the largest network of Agricultural Research and Education institutes in the world.
Conducting Body: The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission) annually for Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) for admission in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in agriculture and allied sciences offered by various universities of India. The following detail is regarding Postgraduate course in Agriculture.

Selection Procedure:- The admission is granted to the applicants after they qualify each of the following shortlisting rounds:-

Entrance Test
Exam Pattern: The exam is held in Online mode. The total time duration is two and a half hours. The medium of examination is in both languages English and Hindi. The examination is divided into 2 separate sections. There are 150 multiple choice questions in Section-A and 10 cross-matching questions in Section-B. The examination pattern as given:

Note:-There is a provision of Negative Marking. 1 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer in section A and 0.2 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer in section B.
Eligibility:
- Age Limit: Applicants must not be less than19 years of age.
- Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in any respective field under the pattern of 10+2+5 (B.V. Sc. and A.H.), (10+2+4) and (10+6) (B.Sc. Ag) with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PC categories).

General Applicants should have 60% whereas, SC/ST candidates must have at least 50% of marks.

For M.V.Sc., a candidate must have passed B.V.Sc.& A.H. with an internship.
