Overview
Karnataka Common Entrance Test also known as KCET is a state-level exam conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). KCET is conducted for admission in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Agriculture courses and Veterinary courses in Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka. The examination is conducted in Offline mode by KEA.
Conducting Body: The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Governed by the Governing Council and headed by the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, GOK, KEA oversee admissions to various courses colleges in Karnataka, India. KEA conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test annually.

Selection Procedure: There is only one stage in KCET for candidates to qualify for admission:

Objective Test
Exam Pattern: The examination is conducted in Offline mode and contain Objective Type questions. KCET take place on two days and four sessions and the question paper comprise three sections namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section is of 60 marks. The total time duration is 80 minutes for each section. The following table explains the paper pattern in detail:-

There is no provision of Negative Marking.

Candidates from Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga take Kannada Language Test.

The Kannada language is of qualifying nature. Candidates need to secure 12 marks in this section to qualify. The marks scored in this section have no effect on the final result of the candidate.

Candidates who want to take admission in the Medical and Dental stream opt for Biology and those who want to secure admission in an Engineering course opt for Mathematics.
Final Selection:- The final merit list is determined on the basis of the combined performance of the candidate in the KCET as well as in the PUC marks. The final rank of the KCET is calculated on the basis of the following formula:-
