Overview

UCEED(Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design)  is a national-level exam managed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. CEED Implementation Committee every year to provide admission to eligible participants in Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes provide at colleges accepting UCEED scores.

Conducting Body: The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design is a joint entrance examination conducted by the IIT Bombay for providing admissions to deserving candidates to the Undergraduate Design courses offered by the IITs and the various other institutes where UCEED score is considered for admissions.

• Objective Test

Exam Pattern:- The examination is conducted Online and the total time duration is 03 hours. Total 68 questions are divided into 3 sections: Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple SelectionType (MSQ) and Multiple Choice Type (MCQ). The language of the examination is English only. The paper pattern is as follows:

Sectional Cut-off: There is a system of sectional cut off. The applicants need to score the minimum cut-off in each section for remaining in the competition to feature in the final merit list.

• Applicants must have appeared in class 12th for the first time in the year of application or the previous year to that.

- No. of attempts: There are only two attempts in the test. The score is applicable for One year only.

• Visualization and spatial ability

• Observation and design sensitivity

• Environmental and social awareness

• Analytical and logical reasoning

• Language and creativity

• Design thinking and problem solving

- Numerical Answer Type:

• No choices are available. The applicants respond with the help of a virtual keyboard.

• 4 marks are given for each correct answer.

• There is no negative marking.

- Multiple Select Questions:

• More than one answer should be correct in each question.

• There is no Negative or Partial marking.

• 4 marks are awarded if the applicant gives a correct response.

- Multiple Choice Questions:

• Applicants record the correct answer for each question.

•  3 marks are awarded for each correct answer.

• 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

- Drawing:

• Drawing skills of candidates are evaluated.

• One subjective question.

• Question is displayed on a computer screen and aspirants need to draw/ write their responses in an answer sheet provided to them.

The UCEED application form can be filled in Online mode. Following are the steps to apply that must be followed while filling the form:

• Registration: Visit the official website at uceed.iitb.ac.in and register for the test. Fill in the basic information. After providing these pieces of information, click on the Register button.

• Verification: Once the registration button is clicked, an email is sent on the provided i.d to verify. The registration process is completed only after verification.

• Application Form Filling: Again login with the provided credentials and fill the application form. The centre for the exam must be chosen at this step.

• Uploading Documents: Upload the scanned copies of the documents. The candidates must submit all the required documents (Photograph and Signature).

• Payment of application fee: The last step is the payment and to apply successfully, the payment must be made.
