Overview
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is direct by XLRI, Jamshedpur at the national level. The exam is conducted for admissions into the various postgraduate level management courses offered by XLRI and other participating institutes across India.
Conducting Body: XLRI is formerly Xavier Labor Relations Institute, is established in 1949 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and based in Jharkhand, India, Jamshedpur. The XLRI conducts the XAT.

Selection Procedure:- There are two stages in the selection procedure-
-
Step-1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Step-2: Selection Round (GD, PI, and Essay Writing)
Exam Pattern:
Computer Based Test (CBT):- The XAT 2019 exam pattern has gone a few changes in comparison to the 208 formats. The long Question has been removed and each paper will have 100 MCQs divided into 4 sections. The final XAT percentage is calculated is depend on the marks of the first 3 sections only. The total time duration will be 3 hours.

Marks obtained by a candidate in the General Knowledge section would only be used at the time of final selection and not for shortlisting candidates for interview/GD.

An applicant has a choice to leave 12 questions unattempted, beyond that, every unattempted question will attract a negative marking of -0.05 mark. There is no sectional time limit.
Final Selection:-

The CAT cut-off of Stage-1: Computer Based Test (CBT) for each participating institute is different.
The qualified applicants will be shortlisted for the stage-2 (Selection Round) of the examination. After qualifying the second stage the applicants will be provided admission.
Eligibility:
-Age Limit:- There is no age limit.
-Educational Qualification:- Graduation degree of a minimum of three years duration or equivalent.

Ques 1. How many times is the exam conducted in a year?
Ans. XAT exam is conducted once a year on the first Sunday of January. In 2020, XAT will be conducted on January 5 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Ques 2. Is the XAT exam held online or offline?
Ans. The XAT exam is held online. Till 2017, XAT was held in pen and paper mode but 2018 onwards, the exam has moved online.
Ques 3. Why is the XAT exam important?
Ans. The exam is a gateway to not only XLRI, Jamshedpur and associated b-schools but also by over 700 other management institutes.
Ques 4. How many times can one attempt XAT?
Ans. The XAT exam can attempt any number of times.
Ques 5. Do IITs & NITs accept XAT score?
Ans. No, IIT accepts XAT score. However, NIT Rourkela accepts the XAT score.
Ques 6. Can I edit my application form?
Ans. Applicants can edit the information on the application form before submission. However, pupils must remember that they cannot edit their essential information.
Ques 7. What are the eligibility criteria for candidates appearing in the final year examination?
Ans. Applicants who are appearing in the final examination can also apply, however, their admission will be on a provisional basis.
Ques 8. How should I add my percentage details if I have done 5 years integrated course?
Ans. If a candidate has done a 5 years integrated course, he/ she shall enter the same percentage for graduation and post-graduation.
Ques 9. Is it necessary to have work experience before admission?
Ans. No, it is not compulsory to have work experience.
Ques 10. I have less than 50% in graduation, am I eligible to apply for XLRI?
Ans. Yes, you are qualified to apply for the exam.
Ques 11. How do I calculate the aggregate marks for CBSE /SSC? Is it the best of 5 or a total of all subjects?
Ans. The applicant should take the aggregate of all the subjects for the 10th.
