BSF is also known as the Primary Border Defence Organisation. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces of India. The Border Security Force (BSF) of India is an organization founded on December 1, 1965, to guard the Indian borders with China, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This exam is held for the employment of eligible applicants for the posts of Constable. The exam is held yearly.

The Border Security Force (BSF) is rightly termed as “The First Line of Defence of Indian Territories”. It is the boundary defence organisation of India. It is a 7 Central Armed Police Forces of India. It was established in the wake of the 1965 War on 1 December 1965 for securing the security of the borders of India.

BSF (Constable) Selection Procedure:
BSF Recruitment Phase I - Written Test (ORM based screening test)
BSF Recruitment Phase II - Physical efficiency test.
PST, PET & Documentation - Only when candidate qualifies this stage, they get to appear for the second stage i.e. descriptive writing.
BSF Recruitment Phase III - Descriptive writing test

Head Constable (RO) - Candidate should qualify descriptive test as well as dictation test during this stage.

Head Constable (RM) - Candidate has to qualify a descriptive test for this stage.
BSF Recruitment Phase IV - Final medical examination.
BSF Final Result - Merit list is prepared separately for both the posts.

Candidates should see that only the date of birth as registered in the matriculation/secondary examination certificate or an equivalent certificate on the latest date of submission of application will be allowed and no subsequent appeal for its change will be acknowledged or awarded.

Relaxation of 5 years of age permitted to the children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat and riots of 1984 on the production of a certificate to that effect from the concerned District Collector where the victim was killed. SC, ST & OBC relaxation as per Govt guidance will be considered.

Relaxation of 5 years of age permitted to the candidates of J&K who have usually been domiciled in the State of J&K through the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

The least height of applicants befalling in category at Gorkhas, Garhwalies, Dogras, Marathas, Kumaonese, and applicants belonging to the states of Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Kashmir and Leh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh regions of J&K will be male - 165 cm, female – 155 cm. The height for all applicants belonging to ST/Adivasis or Tribals including Mizos and Nagas will be male - 162.5 cm, female – 154 cm.

The least measure so far relates to chest measure may be relaxed from 80 cm unexpanded and 85 cm expanded to 76 cm unexpanded and 81 cm expanded individually for Adivasis or Tribals.
Medical Standards
(i) A least distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction, i.e., without wearing glasses.
(ii) Need to pass a high-grade color vision test.
(iii) Should not have knock-knees, flat feet or squint in eyes or varicose vein and they should possess CP-III BY ISIHARA.
(iv) Need to be in absolute mental and bodily health and free from any defect/deformity seeming to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Ans: BSF (Border Security Force) Head Constable Recruitment notification 2021 is yet to be out . Generally, the application starts in May and ends in June. There are 4 stages of the exam in BSF recruitment which start from July (Tentatively) and Ends in January (Tentatively).
