CAT (Common Admission Test) is managed by one of the top six IIMs on a rotational basis at the national level. The exam is conducted for admissions into the various postgraduate level management courses offered by some of the most reputed institutes across India. CAT 2021 is scheduled to be held on November 2021.
Conducting Body: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are a collection of 20 public, independent institutes of management education and analysis in India. The CAT exam is conducted by one of the IIM institutions.

Selection Procedure:-There are two stages in the selection procedure-

Step-1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Step-2: Selection Round [Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI)].
The weightage given to each round is different.
Exam Pattern:
Computer Based Test (CBT):- The examination will be held online into two sessions. The total time duration will be 3 hours. The detailed exam pattern is as follows:-

The CAT cut-off of Stage-1: Computer Based Test (CBT) for each participating institute is different.

The qualified applicants will be shortlisted for the stage-2 (Selection Round) of the examination. After qualifying the second stage the applicants will be offered admission.

Ques 1. Can I make any alterations or edit the application form of CAT once I have done the payment?
Ans. Once the fee is paid, no changes will be made in the application form. However, the editing window for photographs and signature was open for some time.
Ques 2. I have finished my Bachelor’s Degree. Do I need to submit the overall percentage of marks or as per my University standards?
Ans. As per CAT eligibility guidelines, you must submit the percentage according to your university standards.
Ques 3. Is there any age restraint for taking the CAT exam?
Ans No, there is no age restriction for giving the CAT exam.
Ques 4. I have finished a 5-year dual degree course (BTech+MTech, BS+MS, BTech+MSc, etc.)? How do I enter my marks for a bachelor's degree?
Ans. As per your university criteria, you must enter the total marks that are equivalent to Bachelors’ Degree under the Bachelor’s Degree section and the equivalent Marks for the Masters’ degree under the Master Degree section.
Ques 5. In case the website does not work and I am unable to finish my application, what should I do?
Ans. If the registration website is not available for any reason, please close the Internet browser (delete browsing history, cache & cookies of the web browser) and try again.
Ques 6. Can I take the exam from any computer?
Ans. An applicant must take the exam on a workstation specified at the exam venue based on the city chosen while registering for CAT. The venue specifications are printed on the Admit Card.
Ques 7. Can I bring a calculator to the testing centre?
Ans. Applicants are restricted from bringing calculators to the testing centre. You may utilize the on-screen calculator that will be available during the exam.

Ans. To know whether you belong to the NC-OBC category, see the following website: https://www.ncbc.nic.in. Refer to the updated list of state-wise OBCs qualified for availing the benefit of reservation and knowledge in respect of the creamy layer.
Ques 9. I am a PWD applicant with Blindness or low vision/cerebral palsy. What prerogative will I receive on the test day?
Ans. PWD applicants suffering from low vision/blindness/cerebral palsy will be permitted to bring a scribe. Such applicants will also get a time extension during the examination.
Ques 10. What will be the time extension given to a PWD candidate?
Ans. PWD candidates with or without Scribe requirement will be given a time extension of 20 minutes per section, which comes to a total extension of one hour for the full test.
