Himachal Pradesh National Law Entrance Test is also known as HP NET/HP NLET is the competitive national-level law aptitude test conducted by Himachal Pradesh National Law University for admissions to 5 years Integrated LLB, LLM & P.hD Programs into HPNLU. 

Since Himachal Pradesh National Law University has become a participating institute of CLAT, the admissions are now done through CLAT merit score only and HP NET/HP NLET is not considered for entrance anymore. CLAT is conducted by a permanent body which is known as The Consortium of NLUs and is created by the National Law Universities with a headquarters at NLSIU Bangalore. Earlier the exam was conducted by NLUs on a rotational basis. The consortium comprises an Executive Committee, the CLAT convenor of the current year & the following year and two co-opted Vice-Chancellors of NLUs.

 The CLAT examination is conducted in Offline mode.The total time duration of the examination is of 2 hours (120 minutes) and has 150 Objective type questions divided into 3 sections which are Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other topics related to Law. The format of the examination is as follows:-

Note:- The penalty for the wrong answer is  0.25 marks from the total allotted mark get deducted for each wrong answer.

CLAT Counselling:-  The candidates whose name features in the merit list are called for CLAT Counselling which is conducted online. The counseling fee is Rs. 50,000/-.

Ques 1. What is the purpose of the CLAT exam?

Ans. The CLAT is one of the most popular Law Entrance exams for admissions to top law schools in India consisting of 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and 40 other private law colleges and universities across India in UG and PG law courses based on CLAT scores. Therefore, with just one law entrance exam, candidates get vast admission opportunities at prominent law schools across India.

Ques 4. Is there any provision of fee exemption for any category?

Ans. No, there is no such provision for any category. The fee is 4000/- for General category candidates and 3500/- for Reserved category candidates.

Ques 5. Mention the modes of payment to pay the application fee?

Ans. The application fee can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking and offline through bank challan.

Ans. No changes can be made once the form is submitted.

Ans. A scanned photo, signature, and domicile certificate must be uploaded while submitting the form.

Ans. The size of the scanned photograph should be 500kb; the size of the scanned signature should be 100kb and the size of the domicile certificate should be 2MB. Both photograph and signature files should be in jpeg format and the domicile certificate must be in pdf format.
