The International English Language Testing System or IELTS is an internationally accepted English language proficiency accreditation which is required by candidates who want to study or work abroad, and whose first language is not English. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Selection Procedure: There are two types of IELTS examinations:

IELTS Academic test - suitable for candidates seeking admission to foreign college or university.

IELTS General test - suitable for candidates seeking foreign employment.

The IELTS Exam pattern is the same for Academic and General Tests. The tests only differ in the type of questions asked in the reading and writing sections.

The reading, writing, and listening sections are conducted in one slot and the speaking module is conducted in a separate slot which is in a 7-day window after or before the reading-writing-listening slot.

The speaking module comprises 3 parts, one-on-one conversations with an IELTS representative, and the component is scored on the basis of the candidate's oral performance in a life-like environment.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Eligibility criteria:
According to the three governing bodies, there is no eligibility criteria for the IELTS exam which needs to be met for a candidate to appear in the exam. The IELTS is an exam to test the proficiency in English language and is open to candidates irrespective of age and background. There is no age limit or eligibility criteria set by the ETS, the body that conducts this exam, but it is preferred that the aspirant should have crossed 16 years of age.

- Reading:

There are two questions or tasks.

- Listening:
This module is divided into four sections and the conversations can be heard once only.

4th section contains monologue recording on an academic subject.
- Speaking:
The focus of the section is on general speaking skills. There are 3 parts in this section:

Ques 1. How can a candidate apply for the IELTS?
Ans. A candidate can apply Online as well as Offline.

Ans. Payment can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, Demand Draft etc.
