JEE Mains(Joint Entrance Examination - Mains) is a national level entrance exam to provide admissions into B.E, B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning courses at the NIT's, IIT's and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI's) across the country. The Mains exam is held by NTA.
JEE Mains is also the eligibility test for JEE advanced which is the entrance exam for admissions to programmes managed by the IIT's in India.
JEE Mains(Joint Entrance Examination - Mains) Conducting Body:
Joint Entrance Examination or JEE is an Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is conducted for admissions into various B.E./B.Tech. courses in IIT's, NIT's, IIIT's and CFTI's. JEE examination is held in two phases i.e. JEE Mains & JEE Advanced. JEE Mains(Joint Entrance Examination - Mains) Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Criteria:

No age limit.

Aspirants must satisfy the eligibility of age requirements of the concerned institute.
- Educational Qualification:
-
For B.Tech/B.E:- 10+2 with Language, Physics, Mathematics, Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject). The fifth one can be any other subject.

For B.Arch/ B.Planning are:- 10+2 with Language, Physics, Mathematics (compulsory), Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject). The fifth one can be any other subject.

For admissions to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs:- The applicants require to secure a minimum of 75% marks in (10+2) or be in the top 20 percentile in their 10+2 exam held by their respective board.

For admissions to B.Arch courses in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs:- Applicants need to secure at least 50% marks separately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the same in aggregate too.

Computer Based Online Test
JEE Mains(Joint Entrance Examination - Mains) Exam Pattern:
JEE Mains is held twice a year i.e. January and April. The examination is an Online Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers i.e., Paper 1 and 2, each with a time duration of 3 hours (60 minutes per section).
The applicants who seek admission to the B.Tech course need to write the Paper 1 and those who seek admission to the B.Arch course need to write Paper 2. Both the papers are MCQ type except the questions in the Drawing section of Paper 2. The exam pattern is as follows:-
