The Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test (MP SET) is organized by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) every year. It is a state level exam. The purpose of this exam is to hire eligible aspirants for the job of Assistant Professor at different colleges/ universities/ institutions in Madhya Pradesh. The exam is organized in online mode and the applicants can apply online at mppsc.nic.in. Applicants having Postgraduation in any appropriate discipline are eligible to apply for MP SET. The selection of the applicants is done on the basis of the Merit List.

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission was established in the year 1956. One of the major functions of MPPSC is the recruitment of suitable candidates to the State Services by Direct Selection, Promotions, or Transfers.

Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:

The candidate’s Selection process will be done based on the performance of the MP set Entrance Exam conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC).

Candidates will be shortlisted based on marks scored in the Entrance Exam.

Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:

A candidate who has passed a Master’s degree with a minimum 50% marks or its equivalent examination from recognized universities/institutes by UGC in Humanities, Social Science, Computer Science, Earth Science, Population Studies, Education, etc. are eligible of MP SET.

Reserved category applicants will be given 5% relaxation.

Applicants are demanded to appear in the subjects of PG only.

Aspirants who have already given the exam OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) exam and whose decision is still expected OR applicants whose qualifying exams have been deferred may also appear for this Test.

However, such applicants will be admitted conditionally and for those who clear the MP SET, qualification certificate will be issued only on production of proof for having cleared the Master’s degree or equivalent exam within 2 years from the date of MP SET, missing which they will be treated as disqualified.
Age Limit: There is no higher age limit to apply for the MP SET.

Ques 1. What is the minimum percentage for ST/SC applicants?
Ans: The minimum percentage of for the reserved category such as SC/ST is 50%.
Ques 2. What are the eligibility criteria for the third gender applicants?
Ans: Applicant applying from the third gender in other words transgender category would be suitable to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for SET as are open for to SC/ST/PWD classification.
Ques 3. Is there any mark relaxation for Ph.D. degree holders?
Ans: Candidate with a Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Post Graduation before September 1992 are suitable for the relaxation of 5% in minimum mark limit. They should have a minimum of 50% in place of 55% marks.
Ques 4. How many times can I apply for the exam?
Ans: Applicants can apply as many times they want. No limit to the number of trials.
Ques 5. What is the procedure to change my exam center?
Ans: MP SET subject and Exam Center once submitted cannot be changed.
Ques 6. What is the size of scanned photo, signature and other documents?
Ans: Applicant must upload a scanned photograph, signature, and caste/disability certificate if relevant in jpg/jpeg format only. The size of the photograph should be within 15 kb to 50 kb, Signature should be within 5 kb to 20 kb and certificates should be within 50kb to 200kb
Ques 7. Is there any negative marking in the MP SET exam?
Ans: Each question carries 2 marks. For every correct answer, you can score 2 marks and there is no negative marking.
Ques 8. What are the minimum qualifying marks required for MP SET?
Ans: The qualifying marks for MP SET 2019 is 40% (General Category) and 35% (Reserved Category)
