The Punjab Public Service Commission was formed in February, 1948, at Shimla with its revised jurisdiction extending over the then province of east Punjab. following the merger of the states of Punjab and PEPSU, it shifted to Patiala on Nov.1 st,1956. On 1st nov 1966, its territorial jurisdiction again decreased due to the formation of the states of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. The exam is conducted in offline mode. The questions are objective type and the total time duration for the exam is 02 hours. The questions consist of General Knowledge, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning, General English, Computer, and Punjab gk. The total no. of questions are 100 and each question carries 03 marks.

Age limit: The age limit is 21 years to 37 years as per their class 10th. The age relaxation to the SC/ST/OBC candidates is given as per government rules.
