RBI Assistant exam is held by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to select eligible and dynamic candidates for the post of Assistant in various branches and sub-offices of RBI. This exam provides the candidates an opportunity to join one of the most coveted government organisations in India.

RBI Assistant Exam Conducting Body:

Also known as Banker's bank, Reserve Bank of India is a Central Banking Institution which commenced it's operations on 1 April 1935 under Reserve Bank of India Act 1934. RBI Assistant Exam Selection Procedure:-

The RBI Assistant Examination is held in three stages-

  • Preliminary Examination

  • Mains Examination

  • Interview

RBI Assistant Exam- Exam Pattern:

Preliminary Examination:- The RBI Assistant Preliminary Examination is an Offline examination which is held to test the intellect, aptitude, and standard of English language of the applicants.Total time duration of the exam is 01 hour and there is no sectional time limit. The Paper pattern of the Prelims exam is as follows:-

Mains Examination:-The Mains exam have 5 sections and a total of 200 questions. The total time duration will be 135 minutes, but each section needs to be completed in a specific time duration. Applicants are required to complete their questions in the prescribed time interval.

Language Proficiency Test:

After qualifying the Mains examination, candidates have to appear for Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The test is held in the Official / Local Language of the concerned State. A candidate who couldn't qualify the Official/Local Language considered disqualified for the exam.

Interview:- The shortlisted applicants from the Online Test are called for the Personal Interview. The Interview carries 35 marks.

Final Selection:- The final selection of the applicants is dependent on their overall performance of the mains and the interview phases. The merit list is prepared on the basis of these two portions.

RBI Assistant Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

  • Educational Qualification:- Graduation in any discipline with an aggregate of 50% (Passing marks for SC/ST/PWD) and above

  • Age Limit:- 20 to 28 years. Relaxation for the Reserved category candidates is given below:-
