The selection procedure comprises of two parts:

SSC JHT (Junior Hindi Translator) Exam Pattern:
Written Examination: The written examination consist of two papers of a total time duration of 2 hours each. The first paper is a Computer based test having Objective type question and the second paper is a Subjective type paper having questions related to Translation and Essay writing. The exam pattern is as follows:

For Junior Hindi Translators (CSOLs):
Required:

Master' Degree from a recognised University in Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject .

Master's Degree from a recognised University in any subject except Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject.

Master's Degree from a recognised University in any subject except Hindi or English with Hindi and English as either compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as a medium of examination at degree level.

Bachelor's degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (either compulsory or elective)

Certificate Course in Translation from English to Hindi or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and English to Hindi in Central or State Government Offices including Government of India Undertakings.

The Degree obtained through Open Universities/ Distance Education Mode must be recognised by Distance Education Council, IGNOU.

If mentioned degree have been recognised at the period when the candidate acquired the relevant qualification, he/she is accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
