The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design, also known as SEED, is conducted by Symbiosis International University. The exam is conducted to offer admissions into Symbiosis Institute of Design.

It is a university level examination that is held once in a year for admission of candidates in Symbiosis Institute of Design for courses in Graphic Design, Video and Animation Film Design, Product Design, User Experience Design, Interior Space Design, Fashion Communication, and Fashion Design. The SEED is conducted Online for each of these courses.

Selection Procedure: Following are the stages in SEED for candidates to qualify for admission:

  • Objective Test

  • Studio Test

  • Personal Interview

Exam PatternThe examination is conducted in Online mode and contains Objective Type questions. The question paper contains 150 MCQ type questions for Design Aptitude Test. The total time duration of the examination is 02 hours and 30 minutes. The following table explains the paper pattern in detail:-

Note:- There is no provision of Negative Marking.

- Studio TestCandidates, after qualifying the written test, are invited for Studio Test round and the test is held at the SID Pune campus. Candidates must appear for Studio Test.

Personal InterviewThe shortlisted candidates from the Written Test & Studio Test are called for the Personal Interview round which is also held at the SID Pune campus. The selection of the candidates is based on the performance in the Written Test, Studio Test, and Personal Interview.

Eligibility:

- Age Limit:-

  • There is no age limit to appear for the entrance test.

  • Candidates are advised to refer to the website as well regarding the same.

- Educational Qualification:-

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent in any stream from any recognized board OR 10+3 by State Board of Technical Education.

  • The minimum marks in the qualifying exam must be 50%aggregate (45% for SC/ST).

  • Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidates having a well-maintained Portfolio are given preference.

- International Students:

  • Symbiosis International Office handles admissions for international students, so candidates are advised to visit the website regarding the same.
