Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test is organized by the Kumaun University, Nainital. Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:

The candidates must have a Master's Degree recognized by U.G.C. Applicants with Post Graduate certificate/diploma granted by Indian University/Institute or Foreign diploma/degree/certificate granted by any Foreign University/Institute should in their own interest, confirm the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master degree of distinguished Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

Applicants who have obtained no less than 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent from universities/institutions recognized by UGC and State Government are qualified for this Test. The OBC (ST/Non- creamy layer)/SC/PWD(persons with disability) category applicants who have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master's degree or equivalent are qualified for this Test.

The candidates with Ph.D. degree & whose Master level examination had been finished by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of announcement of result) shall be qualified for a relaxation of 5% in total marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in U-SET.

Applicants who have given OR will be giving the qualifying master degree (Final year) examination and whose result is still expected OR applicants whose qualifying examinations have been held may also apply for this Test. However, such applicants will be allowed conditionally and shall be judged qualified for the post of Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master degree examination with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of OBC(Non- creamy layer)/ST/PWD(persons with disability) SC/ category applicants). Such applicants must finish their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of USET result with requisite percentage of marks, missing which they shall be treated as disqualified. Those applicant who pass USET Examination will be awarded the certificate after they have passed their Master Degree examination or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of ST/PH/SC/VH/OBC Non Creamy Category applicants) and submit their P.G. Mark sheet within two years from the date of communication of result of the U-SET examination.
Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit to apply for USET
SC/ST/ PWD/OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates must ensure that they possess an attested copy of their category certificate and the latest valid non creamy layer certificate (not older than one year) in case of OBC. The certificate must be in the candidate own name only.The candidates will be considered as GENERAL Category if they fail to produce valid Category Certificate and the latest non creamy layer certificate(in case of OBC) released by Uttarakhand Govt. in assistance of their request for relaxation in marks, fee, etc.

Ans: Applicant must upload a scanned photograph, signature, and caste/disability certificate if relevant in jpg/jpeg format only. The size of the photograph should be within 15 kb to 50 kb, Signature should be within 5 kb to 20 kb and certificates should be within 50kb to 200kb
Ques 8. Is there any mark relaxation for Ph.D. degree holders?
Ans: Candidate with a Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Post Graduation before September 1992 are suitable for the relaxation of 5% in minimum mark limit. They should have a minimum of 50% in place of 55% marks.
