Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is held by the Haryana Government & Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). This exam is held for the employment of eligible applicants for the posts of teacher in the state of Haryana. This exam presents a good opportunity for eligible applicants who want to teach in the Government School known by the Department of School Education in the state of Haryana. The exam is organized yearly. 

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test Conducting Body:

Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) previously called as Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE), was set up in 1969. It isthe authority that handles the Public Examinations at Middle, Senior Secondary School (Academic & Vocational) and Matric (Secondary or High School) level yearly in the state of Haryana through the affiliated schools.

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be shortlisted from the score secured in the HTET 2019.The merit list is prepared based on the category wise cut off marks.Multiple choice type questions are asked in the exam. Each question is for one mark and there is no negative marking.

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

The candidates should pass the upper Secondary examination with at least 50 marks.

It is a relaxation of 45 marks if the applicants belong to a reserved class.

1.Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED)

OR

2.Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% result and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED).

OR

3.  Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI).

OR

4. 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) or Graduation. 

Age Criteria: Applicants should be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 38 years.

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test Syllabus:

Child Development Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Children): Understanding Children with the special needs, Concept of Inclusive Education and Learning Pedagogy

Mathematics: Shapes, Algebra, Mensuration, Geometry, Arithmetic, Numbers and Spatial Understanding

Language I: Perception-based questions  for language development

Language II (English): Understanding based question in English and advancement of language

Social Sciences/Social Studies:  Social and Political Life Geography, History etc

Environmental Studies: Habitats, Water, Natural Resources, Solar System, Air, Parts of Body, Food Resource and Care, Our Surroundings

Ques 1. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the Haryana TET?

Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for Haryana TET.

Ques 2. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the Haryana TET exam? 

Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the Haryana State for classes VI-VIII but the difficulty standard could be up to the senior secondary stage.

Ques 3. What is the valid period of the Haryana TET passing certificate?

Ans: The validity period of the Haryana TET qualifying certificate is seven years for all the categories.  

Ques 4. I want to apply for Haryana TET. So, I need to know about the age limit?

Ans: Age limit to apply for Haryana TET:

  • General male and female- 35 years.

  • OBC male and female-38 years.

  • SC / ST male and female-42 years.

However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBCapplicants and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.

Ques 5. If I clear Haryana TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply? 

Ans: Applicants who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their Haryana TET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.

Ques 6. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for SC/ST?

Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category applicants have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.

Ques 7. What is the minimum score to qualify the Haryana TET exam?

Ans: Candidates need to score a minimum of 60% marks in Haryana TET to qualify in the examination.

Ques 8. What is the number of attempts I can appear for the Haryana TET exam?

Ans: There is no limitation on the number of trials a person can take to pass Haryana TET. A person who has qualified Haryana TET mayalso reappear for improving his/her score.

Ques 9. What are the minimum marks to qualify?

Ans: Haryana TET Qualifying Marks

  1. For category except SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 60% (90/150)

  2. For SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 55% (83/150)

Ques 10. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?

Ans: Yes you are eligible. The applicants who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50%marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.
