Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is organised by Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. The exam is held with the purpose of hiring Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in Arts/Non Medical/Medical)/Shastri/L.T/ JBT/ Punjabi/ Urdu Subjects.

Applicants will be shortlisted from the score secured in the HP TET  2019. The final list is prepared based on the category wise cut off marks.Multiple choice type questions are asked in the exam. Each question is for one mark and there is no negative marking. There are two papers in the exam i.e. Paper I and Paper II in which 150 questions are asked. Applicants have to complete the exam in 1 and a half hours.

Educational Qualification:

The applicants should pass the upper Secondary examination with at least 50 marks.

It is a relaxation of 45 marks if the applicants belong to a reserved class.

1. Senior Secondary/ Higher Secondary(or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED)

2.  Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% result and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED).

OR

3. Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary(or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI).

4. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) or Graduation. 

Age Criteria: Applicants should be between 18 to 32 years.

Ques 3. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?

Ans: Yes you are eligible. The candidate who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.

Ques 4. If I clear HP TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply? 

Ans: Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their HP TET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.

Ans: HP TET Qualifying Marks

1. For category except SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 60% (90/150)

2. For SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 55% (83/150)

Ques 6. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for SC/ST?

Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category candidates have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.

Ques 7. I want to apply for HP TET. So, I need to know about the age limit for applying?

Ans: Age limit to apply for HP TET:

• General male and female- 35 years.

• OBC male and female-38 years.

• SC / ST male and female-42 years.

However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC applicants and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.

Ques 8. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the HP TET exam? 

Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the HP State for classes VI-VIII but the difficulty standard could be up to the senior secondary stage.

Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for HP TET.

• Registration: Candidates are required to visit the website and register themselves for the test. In this process, some basic information are asked. After providing this information candidates must click on the Register button.

• Verification: Once the registration button is clicked, an email is sent on the provided i.d to verify. The registration process is completed only after verification.

• Application Form Filling: After verification, Candidates can fill the application form through their provided LoginI.d and Password. 

• Uploading Documents: In this step, candidates are asked to upload the scanned copies of their documents. The candidates must submit all the required documents.

• Payment of application fee: The last step is the payment and to apply successfully candidates must make the payment. The payment can be made in online mode.
