Indian Air Force Airmen Group X
The Central Airmen Selection Board is inviting online applications from candidates willing to build up their career with Indian Air Force. The board is all set to recruit professionals for Group ‘X’ Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade).
The IAF Group registrations have already been started. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can fill up the IAF Exam application form and grab the opportunity. IAF Airmen Group X Eligibility Criteria:
-
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India,
-
Age Limit: 16 to 21 years (Unmarried), i.e. the candidate must be born between 16 January 2001 and 29 December 2004 (both days inclusive).
-
Educational Qualification: For Group X (Except Education Instructor Trade):- Intermediate/10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English with at least 50% marks in English as well as 50% aggregate marks.
OR
Three years Diploma in Engineering (Information Technology/ Instrumentation Technology/ Computer Science/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Electrical/ Automobile) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma or 50% marks in Intermediate/Matriculation, If English is not a subject in Diploma Course.
Note:

Candidates who are eligible for the Group X examination are also eligible for Group Y. They are given the opportunity to appear in both examinations.

Diploma Certificate holders are eligible only for Group X.
Physical Standards:

Minimum Height except for IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades: 152.5 cm.

Minimum Height for IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades: For IAF(P) trade 165 Cms (For NE and Hill States) 175 Cms (For other States) For Auto Tech trade -162.5 Cms (For NE and Hill States) 165 Cms (For other States)

Chest Measurement of 75 cm and with a minimum range on an expansion of 5 cm.

Vision: at least 6/12 in each eye without glasses or 6/6 in better eye and 6/36 in the worse eye without glasses, which should be correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses.

Ear: Normal Hearing

Dental: The candidate should have healthy teeth and gums. He must have a good set of teeth along with a minimum of 14 dental points.

Weight: Corresponding to Age and Height. Minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only

The candidate should be mentally and physically fit. Also, he must not be having any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments.

Permanent body tattoos shall not be permitted. However, custom or tribe tattoos may be considered (terms and conditions applied).
Must Note: Aspirants who have been discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason will not be considered eligible to appear in the selection test.

Online Test:- All questions are Objective (Multiple Choice types). The total no. of questions are 70 and the total no. of marks are 70. The time duration of 01 hours. The given online system should be followed:

Ans. The age limit is as follows:
Ques 2. What is the difference between STAR and RALLY?
Ans. RALLY & STAR are the two selection tests held for the Airmen selection. https://airmenselection.cdac.in is the website to check the information regarding the same test.
- RALLY:- Also known as 'On the spot selection' for the applicants belonging to Under-Represented/ Remote areas. Advertisement is published on the website and in the newspaper
- STAR (Scheduled Test for Airmen Recruitment):- In this test, applicants from all over India apply through published advertisements or the IAF website. The test is conducted in two phases:
Ques 3. Is the candidate eligible if they have done their 12th from Open University or as a Private candidate?
Ans. Yes, the candidate is eligible to provide their board or university falls under COBSE (Council of Board of School Education) list.
Ques 4. Is there any relaxation for candidates possessing NCC 'C' certificate in the written exam?
Ans. No, there is no such relaxation. The candidates have to appear in the Examination and qualify.
Ques 5. I have 49.9% in 12th and 49.8% in English. Am I eligible for this exam?
Ans. No, students having at least 50% in English and 50% aggregate in 12th are eligible to appear in this exam.
Ques 6. What is Group X and Group Y in the Air Force?
Ans. The Indian Air Force recruits candidates as Airmen in 2 fields: one is Group 'X' and Group 'Y.' Group 'X' personnel work on a technical duty, and Group 'Y' work on non-technical duty.
Ques 7. Can airmen become officers?
Ans. After completing graduation, Airmen can apply for officer vacancies, which are for Airmen only and are advertised in Air Force only. Airmen who are graduate and below 28 years of age are advised to appear for the SSB interview

Ans. An airman can become a fighter pilot provided he clears the Aptitude test as well as all other tests conducted by AFSB
Ques 9. What are the posts in the Air Force Y group?
Ans. Group Y trade includes communication Technician, Auto Technician, Logistics, Air Force Police, and other trades that are not related to helicopters or any other planes. To apply for Airmen (Group Y) candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent from any stream with more than 50%.
Ques 10. Can 12th appearing apply for the Airman?
Ans. Yes, a candidate can apply for Air Force Airmen group; however, apply at the time of January or February so that he can appear in the exam after completing the Board exam, then go for the Airmen group test.
Ques 11. Can a girl join Indian Air Force after the 12th?
Ans. IAF has started commissioning female candidates as Fighter Pilots. When the course starts, the age limit must be between 20 to 24 years of age.
Ques 12. Can Airmen apply for CDS?
Ans. Airmen are often considered for training/courses conducted within the country and abroad on the basis of their service requirements. IAF provides the opportunity to airmen to become a commissioned officer in IAF through Service Entry Commission and in the Indian Army through Army Cadet College Course
Ques 13. Can Airmen apply for ACC?
Ans. Yes, up to the age of 27yrs, airmen can apply for ACC entry.
Ques 14. Which is better, X or Y group in Air Force?
Ans. Group X is more career-oriented even after completion of your services in the Air Force. The candidate gets technical allowances extra than group Y.
Ques 15. Is there any negative marking in the Air force X & Y Group exam?
Ans. Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in the Online Test of Indian Airforce Group X & Y recruitment. 0.25 marks get deducted for each incorrect answer.

After commencement of the IAF Group X exam 2021, the authorities will issue the IAF Airmen Group X cut off. On the basis of the cut-off and merit list, candidates will be called for the document verification procedure. Indian Air Force Airmen Group X Admit Card:
The IAF Group X admit card will be issued at the official website before at least 10 days of the examination, i.e., Phase I. Candidates can directly visit the site and get their IAF Group X hall ticket downloaded. The process is also given below.
Steps to download the admit card:-

Now, you will be asked to enter the given credentials i.e. your Email id, password, and press Sign in.

The IAF Group X admit card for phase 1, and phase 2 will also be sent on the email ID of the registered candidates. In case you are not able to fetch the Indian Airforce Group X admit card, then you are suggested to check your mailbox. Also, check the spam folder as well.
