Indian Air Force Airmen Group Y
The Central Airmen Selection Board is all set to conduct the recruitment examination for hiring candidates for Group ‘Y’ Trades [Except Indian Air Force (Security) And Musician Trades]. Candidates willing to get a job in Indian Air Force can apply online.
The online IAF Group Y registrations have already been started. It is necessary to fill up the IAF Exam application form before the last date ends. As per the Indian Air Force Airmen Group Y Notification, the last date to apply is 07-02-2021. IAF Airmen Group Y Eligibility Criteria:-
Nationality: Candidates must be unmarried male citizens of India and Nepal
Age Limit: 16 to 21 years (Unmarried)
Educational Qualification:-
-
For Group Y (NonTechnical):- Intermediate/10+2 with any subject with at least 50% marks in English as well as 50% marks in aggregate. Or
-
Two years Vocational Course at par with 10+2 with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Intermediate/Matriculation 50% marks in English in Diploma, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

Applicants who are eligible for the Group X examination are eligible for Group Y as well. They are given the chance to appear in both the examinations.

Only Diploma Certificate holders are eligible for Group X.
Physical Standards:

Minimum Height except for IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades: 152.5 cm.

Minimum Height for IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades: For IAF(P) trade 165 Cms (For NE and Hill States) 175 Cms (For other States) For Auto Tech trade -162.5 Cms (For NE and Hill States) 165 Cms (For other States)

Chest Measurement of 75 cm and with a minimum range of 5 cm.

Vision: at least 6/12 in each eye without glasses or 6/6 in better eye and 6/36 in the worse eye without glasses, which should be correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses.

Hearing: Normal Hearing

Dental: Candidate should have healthy teeth and gums. He must have a good set of teeth along with a minimum of 14 dental points.

Weight: Corresponding to age and height. Minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only

The candidate should be mentally and physically fit. Also, he must not be having any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments.

Permanent body tattoos shall not be permitted. However, custom or tribe tattoos may be considered (terms and conditions applied).
Must Note: Aspirants who have been discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason will not be considered eligible to appear in the selection test.

Online Test:- All questions are Objective (Multiple Choice types). The total no. of questions are 50 and the total no. of marks are 50. The time duration of 45 minutes. The given online system should be followed:

Ques 1. What is the age limit to appear in IAF as an Airmen?
Ans. The age limit is as follows:

Minimum: 17 years
-
Maximum: 21years (For Group X & Group Y); 25 to 28 years (Group X Education Instructor where 25 is maximum for Graduate candidates and 28 for Post Graduate candidates); 25 years (Musician).
Ques 2. What meant Group X and Group Y?
Ans. The Indian Air Force recruits candidates as Airmen in 2 fields: one is Group 'X' and Group 'Y'. Group 'X' personnel work on a technical duty and Group 'Y' work on non-technical duty.

Ques 4. Is the candidate eligible if they have done their 12th from Open University or as a Private candidate?
Ans. Yes, the candidate is eligible to provide their board or university falls under COBSE (Council of Board of School Education) list.
Ques 5. Is there any relaxation for candidates possessing NCC 'C' certificate in a written exam?
Ans. No, there is no such relaxation. The candidate has to appear in the examination and qualify.
Ques 6. I have 49.9% in 12th and 49.8 in English. Am I eligible for this exam?
Ans. No, only students having at least 50% in English and 50% aggregate in 12th are eligible to appear in this exam.
Ques 7. Is there any negative marking in the Air force X & Y Group exam?
Ans. Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in the Online Test of Indian Air-force Group X & Y recruitment. 0.25 marks get deducted for each incorrect answer.
Ques 8. Can airmen become officers?
Ans. After completing graduation, Airmen can apply for officers' vacancies, which are for Airmen only and are advertised in Air Force only. Airmen, who are graduates and below 28 years of age, are advised to appear for the SSB interview.

Ans. An airman can become a fighter pilot provided he/ she clears the Aptitude test as well as all other tests conducted by AFSB.

Ans. Group Y trade includes communication Technician, Auto Technician, Logistics, Air Force Police, and other trades that are not related to helicopters or any other planes. To apply for Airmen (Group Y) candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent from any stream with more than 50%.

Ans. Yes, a candidate can apply for Air Force Airmen group however apply at the time of January or February so that he can appear in the exam after completing the Board exam, then go for the Airmen group test.
Ques 12. Can a girl join Indian Air Force after the 12th?
Ans. IAF has started commissioning female candidates as Fighter Pilots. When the course starts the age limit must be between 20 to 24 years of age.
Ques 13. Can Airmen apply for CDS?
Ans. Airmen are often considered for training/courses conducted within the country and abroad on the basis of their service requirements. IAF provides the opportunity to airmen to become a commissioned officer in IAF through Service Entry Commission and in the Indian Army through Army Cadet College Course

Ans. Yes, up to the age of 27yrs an Airman can apply for ACC entry.

Click on the Indian Air Force Airmen Group Y notification link and read all the essential details.

Move back to the previous page and hit on the “register online” link to complete the Indian Air Force Airmen Group Y registration.

Complete the Indian Air Force Airmen Group X sign-in process by providing your essential details.

Then Download/ Print the admit card.
Must Remember: The IAF Group Y admit card for phase 1 and phase 2 will also be sent on the email ID of the registered candidates. In case you are not able to fetch the Indian Airforce Group Y admit card then you are suggested to check your mailbox. Also, check the spam folder as well.
