Overview
Maharashtra Provincial Civil Services (MPCS) exam is organized by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The aim of this exam is to recruit eligible applicants for numerous posts in the Ministries and departments in the Government of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Provincial Civil Services (MPCS) Exam Pattern:-
Preliminary Exam:- The preliminary examination is of qualifying nature and is held offline. The preliminary examination consists of Objective type questions. The medium of instructions of the examination is in Marathi and English language.

Mains Exam:- The applicants who are shortlisted from the preliminary examination are allowed to sit for the mains examination.

The MPSC Mains examination is of descriptive nature.

There are 6 papers in the Mains Examination.

The first 4 papers are of General Studies and the last two are of Compulsory Marathi and compulsory English respectively.

The third paper consists of questions on which candidates write essays.

Ques 2. How can applicants apply for Maharashtra PCS?

Ans. The admit card is released a week prior to the exam.

Ques 6. Can all papers in Mains examination of Descriptive nature?
Ans. No, There are 4 GS papers and these all are objective type and remaining two i.e. English and Marathi are Descriptive.
Ques 7. What should be the size of the scanned Signature and Photograph?
Ans. The size of the scanned photograph and signature should not be more than 50 kb each.
Ques 8. Is there any negative marking in the exam?
Ans. Yes, there is a provision of negative marking for Paper I. 1/4th of the total mark should be deducted.
Ques 9. How can candidates pay the application fee?
Ans. By online through Credit/ Debit card, Net banking and offline through Maha e- Seva Kendra and e-Challan.

Ans. Following is the required qualification:
