Maharashtra State Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:
Selection will be based on the final list which will be prepared on the basis of marks in the Paper I, Paper-II and Paper III.
Maharashtra State Eligibility Test Exam Pattern:
The Exam will consist of Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III. The examination for all the 3 papers would be carried on one day, in two different settings. The SET will be administered in Objective Mode.

Maharashtra State Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:

The applicants must have a Master's Degree recognized by U.G.C., in a subject of SET. The applicants having /Institute or Foreign degree/Post Graduate diploma/ certificate awarded by the Foreign University/Certificate awarded by Indian Universitydiploma/Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence *of their diploma/degree/certificate, with Master degree of recognized Indian Universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in(* Such candidates who pass SET will be expected to submit equivalence certificate from AIU, Shortly after the result of the SET examination)

The candidates other than SC/SBC/DT(VJ)/ST/OBC/Orphan category/NT/SEBC/Trans- genders, who have acquired at least 55% marks (without gracing or in Master's or equivalent examination, are qualified for this test. OBC/ DT(VJ)/NT/SEBC/SBC/ [relating to non creamy layer] and PH/VH/SC/ST/VH Visually Handicapped i.e. Blind/Trans genders(PH Physically Handicapped), Orphan category applicants who have obtained at least 50% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master or equivalent examination are suitable for this test. The applicants s belonging to /NT (B, C, D)/SBC/DT(A (VJ)/SEBC must present a credible category certificate approved by the Govt. of Maharashtra & Goa. The OBC certificate will not be allowed in place of categories (The OBC certificate is allowed only at the national level for UGC NET and UGC CSIR NET in place of said categories). The candidates who are in the first year of two years Masters Course or the first two semesters of a four-semester curriculum of Master Degree are not qualified to appear for this examination.

Candidates who have given their qualifying Master degree (final year) examination and whose result is still expected or who are in their Master's degree or equivalent course or applicants whose qualifying examinations have been held may also apply for this examination. Nevertheless, such applicants will be accepted conditionally and shall be counted qualified for Assistant Professor after they have passed their Master Degree or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of PH/VH/SC/ST/Trans genders/Orphan and DT(A)/NT(B)/OBC/SBC/NT(C)/NT(D)/ SEBC [pertaining to non creamy layer] such applicants must finish their Master Degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of SET result with requisite percentage of marks, missing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

The applicants of different States (other than Maharashtra & Goa) referring to reserved categories shall be treated as Open category, as per the rules of the Maharashtra and Goa States.

Candidates can give SET exam in the subject of their Post Graduation only e.g. Commerce: M.Com. Life Science: M.Sc. Life Zoology/Science/Biotechnology Botany/Microbiology/ etc., Home Science: M.Sc., M.A. Home Science,Environmental Science: M.Sc. Env. Sci.

Candidates should note that their candidature is temporary. It will be considered only when the verification of eligibility documents concerning the assertions made in their application, after the result of the SET examination.

A candidate who has previously qualified SET in a subject, will not be permitted to appear freshly for SET in the same subject. The applicants infringing this rule will be accountable for initiating judicial action.

There is no upper age limit to apply for the SET test.

As per the U.G.C. rules the applicants who have passed M.Sc. (by Research) are not qualified to give the exam.

The SET State Agency will not issue any mark sheet to qualified/not qualified applicants. Applicants should note that there is a provision for online verification of MH- SET results. The SET Unit will issue an e certificate to qualified applicants only on verification of the Eligibility documents immediately after the result of the SET examination.
Age Criteria:There is no higher age limit .

Ques 1. I have 146 marks in commerce field and I am from SC/BC category. Is there any chance to apply for exam?
Ans. No, OBC/ DT(VJ)/NT/SEBC/SBC/ [relating to non creamy layer] and PH/VH/SC/ST/VH Visually Handicapped i.e. Blind/Transgenders(PH Physically Handicapped), Orphan category applicants who have obtained at least 50% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master or equivalent examination are suitable for this test.
Ques 2. What is the minimum percentage criteria for ST/SC candidate?
Ans: The minimum criterion of percentage for the reserved category such as SC/ST is 50%.
Ques 3. What are the eligibility criteria for the third gender candidate?
Ans: Applicant applying from the third gender in other words transgender category would be suitable to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for SET as are open for to SC/ST/PWD classification.
Ques 4. What is the size of the file to upload my scanned photo, signature and other documents?
Ans: Applicant must upload a scanned photograph, signature, and caste/disability certificate if relevant in jpg/jpeg format only. The size of the photograph should be within 15 kb to 50 kb, Signature should be within 5 kb to 20 kb and certificates should be within 50kb to 200kb
Ques 5. Is there any mark relaxation for Ph.D. degree holders?
Ans: Applicants with a Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Post Graduation before September 1992 are suitable for the relaxation of 5% in minimum mark limit. They should have a minimum of 50% in place of 55% marks.
Ques 6. What is the procedure to change my exam center?
Ans: Maharashtra SET subject and Exam Center once submitted cannot be changed.
Ques 7. What are the minimum qualifying marks required for Maharashtra SET?
Ans: The qualifying marks for Maharashtra SET 2019 is 40% (General Category) and 35% (Reserved Category)
Ques 8. Is there any negative marking in the Maharashtra SET exam?
Ans: Each question carries 2 marks. For every correct answer, you can score 2 marks and there is no negative marking.

The application form can be filled in Online mode only. Candidates desirous to apply for the test can apply in Online mode from the official website. Following are the steps to apply that must be followed while filling the form:

Registration: Candidates are required to visit the website and register themselves for the test. In this process, some basic information are asked. After providing this information candidates must click on the Register button.

Verification: Once the registration button is clicked, an email is sent on the provided i.d to verify. The registration process is completed only after verification.

Application Form Filling: After verification, Candidates can fill the application form through their provided LoginI.d and Password.

The MHSET releases the admit cards on 18/06/2020 for the exam in Online mode. The link of the admit cards are sent to the registered emails and mobile numbers of the candidates.The admit card is a mandatory document for the test and the candidate must carry it to the exam center along with an I.D proof such as Driving License, Voter Card, PAN Card, Aadhar Card.
