Staff Selection Commission MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) is a National level examination conducted by the SSC annually to recruit various posts in Ministries and Departments of the Govt. of India. This year there are 11409 posts of MTS and Havaldar available for candidates.

SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality:
The candidate must be an Indian Citizen or subject of Nepal/Bhutan. Also, the Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 for permanently residing is eligible.
Note: People migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam for permanently residing are eligible to apply for SSC MTS 2023.

The age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User
Departments are:
1. 18-25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1998 and not later than 01.01.2005) for MTS and Havaldar in CBN
(Department of Revenue).
2. 18-27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1996 and not later than 01.01.2005) for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS.

SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Educational Qualification :
1 The candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board as on or before the cut-off date i.e.17-02-2023.
2 All the degrees/ diplomas/certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 as per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10-06-2015 published in the Gazette of India.
3 Document Verification (DV) will be conducted by the User Departments/ Organizations after declaration of the final result.
4 The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the
cut-off date and he has been declared passed, will also be considered to meet the educational qualification.
5 Candidates possessing equivalent educational qualification shall also produce relevant Equivalence Certificate from the authorities concerned
at the time of Document Verification. But, final decision regarding selection of such candidates will be taken by the User Departments/ Appointing Authorities concerned.
SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Exam Pattern :
SSC has changed the selection process and exam pattern for SSC MTS 2023 exam. From now onwards, there will be only one CBT for MTS posts for which the pattern has been updated and for Havaldar posts CBT and PET/PST exams will be conducted. The SSC MTS CBT exam has been divided into 2 sessions with 90 questions for 270 marks.

SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Selection Procedure:
The examination will consist of
- Computer Based Examination (CBT) and
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)
Note: There will be no negative marking in Session-I. But in Session-II, there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.
