Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) is organized by the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana. The exam is held for the employment of eligible and aspiring applicants for the posts of teachers for Classes I to VIII in Telangana State. Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) Selection Procedure:
Candidates are selected based on the best performance in TS TET written exam also called as TRT in Telangana state. Govt. of Telangana State School Education Dept. In the written test, there are two paper Paper I For (Class I to V) & Paper-II For Class VI to VIII.

Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
i) The candidates who have obtained at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree (i.e., LLM, MCA, M.Com, MBA, MLISC, M.Ed., M.A., M.Sc., M.PEd., MCJ, and M.Tech (CSE & IT only)) are qualified to apply. However, in the event of the Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Backward Classes (BC)/Scheduled Caste (SC) category applicants who have obtained at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master Degree is eligible for this Test.
ii) The candidates who are in their Master Degree course or the applicants who have given for their qualifying Master Degree (final year) exam and whose result is still expected or applicants whose qualifying exams have been held may also apply for this test. However, suchapplicants are accepted temporarily and are regarded suitable for eligibility for Assistant Professor / Lecturer after they have passed their Master Degree examination with minimum 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD (Persons with Disability) category applicants. Candidates are supposed to finish their Master Degree exam within two years from the date of SET result with requisite percentage of marks, missing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
iii) Candidates who belong to the third gender in other words transgender are qualified to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for TS - SET exam as is available to SC/ST/ PwD categories. The subject wise cut offs for this level should be the minimum among those for ST/PwD/SC/BC categories in a similar subject.
iv) The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master level examination was completed by19th September 1991(irrespective of the date of declaration of result) is qualified for a relaxation of 5% in total marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
v) Candidates are suggested to take the subject of their Post Graduation only.
vi) Candidates having Post Graduate Diploma awarded by Indian University/ Institute or Foreign Degree/Diploma awarded by the Foreign University/ Institute should in their interest, ascertain the equivalence of their Degree /Diploma with a Master Degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
Age Criteria: Applicants should be between 18 to 40 years.

Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) FAQs:
Ques 1. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?
Ans: Yes you are eligible. The candidate who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.
Ques 2. I want to apply for Telangana TET. So, I need to know about the age limit ?
Ans: Age limit to apply for Telangana TET:

SC / ST male and female-42 years.
However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC applicants and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.
Ques 3. If I clear Telangana TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply?
Ans: Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their Telangana TET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.
Ques 4. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for ST/SC?
Ans: SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category candidates have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.
Ques 5. I am from Andhra Pradesh, am I eligible to apply for Telangana TET?
Ans. No, only permanent residents from Telangana are eligible to appear for TET.
Ques 6. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the Telangana TET exam?
Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the Telangana State for classes VI-VIII but the difficulty standard could be up to the senior secondary stage.

Ans: Telangana TET Qualifying Marks

Ques 9. Is the passing certificate of the Telangana TET, an assurance that I will be appointed as a teacher?
Ans: This exam will only be a criterion to qualify for the appointment as a teacher. It should not be viewed as an appointment order for the post of teachers.
Ques 10. Does a BCA student apply for Telangana TET?
Ans. No, besides graduation, the applicant must also have done B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognized university.
