The candidate must be an Indian Citizen or subject of Nepal/Bhutan. Also, the Tibetan refugees who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 for permanently residing are eligible.
Note: People migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam for permanently residing are eligible to apply for UPSC IAS Exam 2021.

The applicants must fill the application form correctly, as sometimes there is no provision of correcting the application form after the submission. To apply for the exam the applicants are required to have a mobile number, date of birth, and an email id. The steps required to follow while filling the form are as follows:
