Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) FAQs:

Ques 1. I want to apply for Andhra Pradesh TET. So, I need to know about the age limit for applying?

Ans: Age limit to apply for Andhra PradeshTET:

  • General male and female- 35 years.

  • OBC male and female-38 years.

  • SC / ST male and female-42 years.

However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC candidates and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.

Ques 2. I have completed B. Sc Microbiology, am I eligible?

Ans. To be eligible for the course, it is expected that along with the graduation, the candidate must have done a teaching course. Thus, you are not eligible. 

Ques 3. Can a BCA student apply for Andhra Pradesh TET?

Ans. No, besides graduation, the applicant must also have done B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognized university.

Ques 4. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the Andhra Pradesh TET?

Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for Andhra PradeshTET.

Ques 5. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?

Ans: Yes you are eligible. The candidate who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.

Ques 6. What are the minimum marks to qualify?

Ans: Andhra Pradesh TET Qualifying Marks

  1. For category except SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 60% (90/150)

  2. For SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 55% (83/150)

Ques 7. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for ST/SC?

Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category applicants have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.

Ques 8. What are the minimum marks to qualify?

Ans. The criteria for considering pass in Andhra Pradesh TET is as follows:

a) OC 60% Marks and above

b) BC 50% Marks and above

c) SC 40% Marks and above

d) ST 40% Marks and above

e) Differently-abled (PH) 40% Marks and above

Ques 9. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the Andhra PradeshTET exam? 

Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the Andhra Pradesh State for classes VI-VIII but the difficulty standard could be up to the senior secondary stage.
