Assam Civil Services (ACS) or Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is organized by the Assam Public Services Commission (APSC). The purpose of this exam is to hire to eligible applicants for numerous posts in the Ministries and departments in the Government of Assam. The exam is organized yearly. Assam Civil Services (ACS) Exam Selection Procedure:
The APSC exam is held in two parts:
The selection of the candidates purely depends on merit which is based on the performance in the above-mentioned rounds.
Assam Civil Services (ACS) Exam Pattern:-
Preliminary Examination:- The preliminary examination is of qualifying nature and is conducted Offline. The examination consists of two papers with a total duration of 2 hours each. The examination contains Objective type questions. The examination pattern is as follows:-

Mains (Written & Interview) Exam:- The applicants who are shortlisted from the preliminary examination are allowed to sit for the mains examination.

The APSC CCE Mains examination has papers of Descriptive nature.

There are as many as 6 papers in the Mains Examination.

The first two papers are of General English and General Studies and the last 4 papers are of the optional subjects opted for by the candidate.

Interview:- The candidates who are shortlisted from the mains examinations are called for the interviews to judge their mental ability, decision making, and their suitability for the service. The Interview carries 200 marks.
Final Selection:- The final selection of the applicants depends upon the comprehensive score of the candidate in the Mains examination (Written + Interview) out of 1600 marks.
