Overview
Chhattisgarh State Service Exam is organized by the Chhattisgarh Public Services Commission (CGPSC). The purpose of this exam is to hire eligible applicants for the different posts in the Ministries and departments in the Government of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh State Service Exam (CGPSC) Exam Pattern:
Preliminary Examination:- The preliminary examination is of Qualifying nature and is held Offline. The examination consists of two papers of Objective nature of a total duration of 2 hours each.The exam pattern is as follows:-

Note:- There is a provision of negative marking.The applicants belonging to the General category need to score a minimum of 33% and the applicants belonging to the Reserved category need to score a minimum of 23% marks to be eligible.
Mains Examination (Written Exam):- The applicants who are shortlisted from the Preliminary examination are allowed to sit for the Mains examination. The CGPSC Mains examination have papers of Descriptive nature. Following is the exam paper pattern of the mains examination:-

Applicants can choose to write the Language Paper in either Hindi or English.

In the Paper II, candidates have to write 2 Essays one on a National level problem and other related to the state of Chhattisgarh.
Exam Time: Each main paper is of 3 hours
Interview:- The candidates who are shortlisted from the mains examinations are called for the Interviews. The personal interview is conducted for 150 marks.The interview is conducted with the aim to access the awareness, intelligence, problem-solving ability and the suitability of the candidate towards the services.
Final Selection:- The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the performances of the candidates in Mains and Interview, out of a total of 1550 (1400+150) marks.

Ques 5. Is there negative marking in CGPSC?
Ans. Yes, there is a provision of negative marking in CGPSC Pre. 1 mark should be deducted

Ans. There is no such limit but the age criteria must be followed.
