Ques 1. When can I register through SMS?
Ans. From the day of the Advertisement to the closing date.
Ques 2. How to register for DRDO Entry Test through SMS?
Ans. All interested candidates who wish to apply for DRDO Entry Test, are compulsorily required to register themselves on mobile no. of CEPTAM by sending an SMS in the format as prescribed by the organisation. After this step candidate receives a 'Registration Number' based on exam city code, and postcode. The candidate must mention this registration number while filling the form.
Ques 3. Is it mandatory to send application after registering through SMS?
Ans.Yes. Without registration, the number of application is not accepted. Registration is the First Step while applying for any post. Candidate should get separate registration for each postcode if he/she is applying for more than one postcode.
Ques 4. For writing DRDO Entry Test, Is it sufficient to register through SMS only?
Ans. No, after registration it is mandatory to apply for registered post either online or as per application format for the post, (for the post of STAB it is also mandatory to apply online). All applicants send their online printed application forms (for STAB) or Application in required format along with documents as required to Director, CEPTAM before/or on closing date by ordinary post (Not by registered post, courier or speed post).
Ques 5. When I can apply for various posts in DRDO?
Ans. After the publication of an advertisement by CEPTAM to the closing date of receipt of application.
Ques 6. Is there negative marking in DRDO CEPTAM?
Ans. No, there is no negative marking.
Ques 7. What is the work of STA B in DRDO?
Ans. An STA 'B' means Senior technical assistant. STA is placed in a group where one or more scientist are working on a project.STA supports the day to day research activities and handles/ assist activities like inventory management, purchase of materials and goods etc.
Ques 8. Is DRDO a PSU?
Ans. DRDO is an R&D organization under GoI like its other counterparts like ISRO, BARC etc. DRDO is under Govt. of India, unlike PSUs where Govt. of India owns majority stakes. Hence DRDO is not a PSU
Ques 9. Does DRDO recruit from IIT?
Ans. DRDO recruits employees through an entry test and through campus recruitment across 40 IITs, central universities and other engineering schools.
Ques 10. Is there a reservation in DRDO?
Ans. There is no reservation. The government of India has exempted ISRO from any reservation for SC/ST/OBC for the posts of scientists. Reservation criteria are there for other posts in ISRO but for the top job of scientist, there is no reservation.
Ques 11. Where is the headquarter of DRDO?
Ans. New Delhi. The DRDO, an agency of the Government of India, is charged with the military's research and development.
Ques 12. Who can apply for DRDO CEPTAM?
Ans. The CEPTAM is conducted for the recruitment of STA (Senior Technical Assistant 'B') in DRDO. Only B.Sc./Diploma(3 years) passed candidates can apply for it. Higher qualifications candidates like M. Sc/B. Tech /Ph. D, etc. are not eligible.
Ques 13. From where I can get a copy of the advertisement of CEPTAM-09/TECH 'A'?
Ans. Copy of advertisement can be downloaded from the CEPTAM website available on DRDO Website and Employment news.
Ques 14. What are the examination cities for Tier-I of CEPTAM-09/TECH 'A'?
Ans. Candidates are advised to choose any three different cities for the Tier-I examination. Once selected the centre can't be changed. The choice for the city for Tier-II (Trade Test) exam is not required. Following is the list for the cities:

Ques 15. Are all OBC candidates eligible for seeking reservation/relaxation?
Ans. Candidates who belong to the OBC Non-Creamy Layer (Under Central Govt. List) are eligible to seek reservation/relaxation benefits. Candidates who belong to the OBC-Creamy Layer are not eligible to seek reservation/relaxation benefits.
Ques 16. Who is a Scribe?
Ans. A Scribe is a person who narrates the questions and transcribes the answers.
