Overview
DRDO was formed in 1958 from the merger of the then already working Technical Development Establishment (TDEs) of the Indian Army and the Directorate of Technical Development & Production (DTDP) with the Defence Science Organisation (DSO). DRDO is the R&D wing of Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, with a foresight to empower India with cutting-edge defence technologies. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducts the Centre for Personnel Talent Management Entry Test (CEPTAM) for the recruitment of young professionals for Senior Technical Assistant 'B' (DRDO STA'B'), Technician 'A'(Tech 'A'), Assistant (Hindi), Admin & Allied Category Posts. DRDO CEPTAM Selection Procedure:
The DRDO-CEPTAM examination is conducted in two phases:
-
Tier-1
-
Tier-2.
The Tier1 test is common to all postcodes and the Tier2 is based on postcode. Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories need 40% marks to qualify and the candidates of the SC/ST categories need a minimum of 35% marks.
Final Selection:- Candidate are selected on the basis of their performances in Tier 1 & Tier 2 marks and on the basis of document verification. The candidate who secures the minimum qualification marks in Tier-1 gets selected for Tier-2. The candidate scoring the minimum qualifying marks in Tier-2 examination gets selected for preliminary document verification.

Ques 1. When can I register through SMS?
Ans. From the day of the Advertisement to the closing date.
Ques 2. How to register for DRDO Entry Test through SMS?
Ans. All interested candidates who wish to apply for DRDO Entry Test, are compulsorily required to register themselves on mobile no. of CEPTAM by sending an SMS in the format as prescribed by the organisation. After this step candidate receives a 'Registration Number' based on exam city code, and postcode. The candidate must mention this registration number while filling the form.
Ques 3. Is it mandatory to send application after registering through SMS?
Ans.Yes. Without registration, the number of application is not accepted. Registration is the First Step while applying for any post. Candidate should get separate registration for each postcode if he/she is applying for more than one postcode.
Ques 4. For writing DRDO Entry Test, Is it sufficient to register through SMS only?
Ans. No, after registration it is mandatory to apply for registered post either online or as per application format for the post, (for the post of STAB it is also mandatory to apply online). All applicants send their online printed application forms (for STAB) or Application in required format along with documents as required to Director, CEPTAM before/or on closing date by ordinary post (Not by registered post, courier or speed post).
Ques 5. When I can apply for various posts in DRDO?
Ans. After the publication of an advertisement by CEPTAM to the closing date of receipt of application.
Ques 6. Is there negative marking in DRDO CEPTAM?
Ans. No, there is no negative marking.
Ques 7. What is the work of STA B in DRDO?
Ans. An STA 'B' means Senior technical assistant. STA is placed in a group where one or more scientist are working on a project.STA supports the day to day research activities and handles/ assist activities like inventory management, purchase of materials and goods etc.
Ques 8. Is DRDO a PSU?
Ans. DRDO is an R&D organization under GoI like its other counterparts like ISRO, BARC etc. DRDO is under Govt. of India, unlike PSUs where Govt. of India owns majority stakes. Hence DRDO is not a PSU
Ques 9. Does DRDO recruit from IIT?
Ans. DRDO recruits employees through an entry test and through campus recruitment across 40 IITs, central universities and other engineering schools.
Ques 10. Is there a reservation in DRDO?
Ans. There is no reservation. The government of India has exempted ISRO from any reservation for SC/ST/OBC for the posts of scientists. Reservation criteria are there for other posts in ISRO but for the top job of scientist, there is no reservation.

Ans. New Delhi. The DRDO, an agency of the Government of India, is charged with the military's research and development.

Ans. Candidates who belong to the OBC Non-Creamy Layer (Under Central Govt. List) are eligible to seek reservation/relaxation benefits. Candidates who belong to the OBC-Creamy Layer are not eligible to seek reservation/relaxation benefits.

Ans. A Scribe is a person who narrates the questions and transcribes the answers.

DRDO-CEPTAM Application Process
DRDO CEPTAM Application Process:
The application form can only be filled in online mode. Applicants who are eager to apply for the test can apply in online mode through the official website. The applicants must fill the application form correctly, as sometimes there is no provision of correcting the application form after the submission. To apply for the exam the applicants are required to have a mobile number, date of birth, and an email id. The steps required to follow while filling the form are as follows:
- Applicants are required to visit the official website and after that the applicants must click on the new user, then the register window will open on a new page.
- Applicant must click on the new registration in the application page and then click on the register button of the page.
- Applicant is now required to fill the form and provide some basic information like the applicant’s name, parent’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email id etc.
- Now, the applicant must click on the submit button to submit the online registration form. All the applicants will be issued with a registration ID for the exam.
- So, now the applicant is required to login with the provided registration ID, date of birth, and password to complete the registration process.
- Now the applicant is required to upload a photograph and signature. The photo must be of white color or light color background and should be more than 4kb in size. The photograph resolution must be 100 by 120 pixels in WH. The signature should be only in blue or black ink on a white sheet. The scanned copy of the applicant’s signature should be in jpg format.
- Now the applicant must login with the registered ID and password to complete the part 2 of the application form.
- After filling the application form the applicant must preview the entire application form to look for any mistakes.
- Now click on the Final Submit button to complete the online application form.
- The last step is the payment of the application fee for the exam. The applicant must make the payment to apply successfully. The payment can be made in online mode or as suggested by the organization.
- After the payment is made the applicant must submit the application form to complete the online application form process. The applicant must keep a printout of the application form for future use.

The admit cards for the exam are issued by the TA in online mode. The applicants can download the admit card on the official website. The applicants are able to download the admit card by using details such as registration number and date of birth. The steps required to download the admit card is as follows:
