Jharkhand Provincial Civil Service Exam or Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is organized by the Jharkhand Public Services Commission (JPSC). The selection of the candidates purely depends on merit which is based on the performance in the above-mentioned rounds.
Jharkhand Provincial Civil Service Exam (JPCS) Exam Pattern:
Preliminary Examination:- The preliminary examination is of Qualifying nature and is held Offline. The examination consists of two papers of a total duration of 2 hours each. The paper is an Objective type. There is no provision of negative marking. The exam pattern is as follows:-

Mains Examination (Written Exam):- The applicants who are shortlisted from the Preliminary examination are allowed to appear for the Mains examination. The JPSC Mains examination has papers of Descriptive nature. Following is the exam paper pattern of the mains examination:-

All six papers of Mains are compulsory.

Paper I is of Descriptive nature carrying 50 marks each. This paper is Qualifying and min. 30 marks are necessary to qualify.

Paper II - Out of fifteen which is listed by the Commission, Candidate must opt for one Language and Literature. This paper is Descriptive in nature. List of Language & Literature is as follows:

Interview: The candidates who are shortlisted from the mains examinations are called for the Interview. The personal Interview carries 100 marks. The interview is conducted with the aim to access the awareness, intelligence, problem solving ability, and suitability of the candidate towards the services.
Final Selection:- The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the performances of the candidates in Mains and Interview.
