Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) is a National level examination conducted by the SSC annually to recruit staff to various groups like Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries and Departments of the Govt. of India.

- Nationality:

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen or subject of Nepal/Bhutan. Also, the Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 for permanently residing is eligible. 

Note: People migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam for permanently residing are eligible to apply for SSC CGL Exam 2021.

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level)  Educational Qualification :

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Selection Procedure:

The SSC CGL examination has been divided into four stages i.e. Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4.

• Tier-I: Computer Based Examination

• Tier-II: Computer Based Examination

• Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)

• Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)

Note:

• Candidates who qualify Tier 1 are eligible to appear for Tier 2.

• Candidates qualifying Tier 2 are eligible to appear for both Tier 3 and Tier 4.

• Tier 4 is of qualifying nature 

• Final Merit List is decided on the basis of the cumulative marks of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3.

Note: Tier I & II are online exams and Tier III is offline.

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Exam Pattern:

- SSC CGL Tier 1 and 2:

• There will be Objective Type, Multiple choice questions in both Tier 1 and Tier 2. 

• The egative marking of .50 marks will be there in Tier 1

• In Tier 2, the Negative marking of .50 marks will be for Paper-I, Paper-III, and Paper-IV and the Negative marking of .25 marks will be for Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension).

-Tier-III Examination:

• Tier 3 exam will also be bilingual in nature.

• In the answer sheet of Tier 3, Roll Number, Signature, and Left-hand Thumb Impression must be given by the candidate otherwise zero marks will be rewarded.

- Tier-IV (Skill Test):

In Tier 4, the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) will be conducted. 

SSC CGL Document Verification:

Candidates who qualify in the examination will be required to attend the Document verification process along with all the necessary documents including:

• Two Recent Passport Size Colour Photographs

• One Original Valid Photo Id Proof

• Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate

• Educational Qualification Certificate

• Caste/ Category Certificate,

• PWD Certificate 

SSC CGL Minimum Qualifying Marks:

In Tier-I, each Paper of Tier-II and Tier-III, candidate need to score a minimum of: 

SSC CGL Tie Resolution:

In case two or more candidates score the same marks, then the tie resolution will be done on the basis of: 

• Total marks of relevant Papers in Tier-II Examination.

• Total marks in Tier-III Examination.

• Older candidate will be preferred

SSC CGL Selection Procedure:

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Application Process:

The application form can only be filled in online mode. Applicants who are eager to apply for the test can apply in online mode through the official website. The applicants must fill the application form correctly, as sometimes there is no provision of correcting the application form after the submission. To apply for the exam the applicants are required to have a mobile number, date of birth, and an email id. The steps required to follow while filling the form are as follows:

• Applicants are required to visit the official website and after that the applicants must click on the new user, then the register window will open on a new page.
• Applicant must click on the new registration in the application page and then click on the register button of the page.
• Applicant is now required to fill the form and provide some basic information like the applicant’s name, parent’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email id etc.
• Now, the applicant must click on the submit button to submit the online registration form. All the applicants will be issued with a registration ID for the exam.
• So, now the applicant is required to login with the provided registration ID, date of birth, and password to complete the registration process.
• Now the applicant is required to upload a photograph and signature. The photo must be of white color or light color background and should be more than 4kb in size. The photograph resolution must be 100 by 120 pixels in WH. The signature should be only in blue or black ink on a white sheet. The scanned copy of the applicant’s signature should be in jpg format.
• Now the applicant must login with the registered ID and password to complete the part 2 of the application form.
• After filling the application form the applicant must preview the entire application form to look for any mistakes.
• Now click on the Final Submit button to complete the online application form. 
• The last step is the payment of the application fee for the exam. The applicant must make the payment to apply successfully. The payment can be made in online mode or as suggested by the organization.
• After the payment is made the applicant must submit the application form to complete the online application form process. The applicant must keep a printout of the application form for future use.

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Exam Pattern

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level)  Exam Pattern:

Tier-I Exam pattern is: 

Note: Total time allotted is 60 minutes. There is a provision of negative marking of 1/2  of the mark allotted to each question on every wrong answer.

Tier-2 Exam pattern is:

Note: Tier II is an online exam and there is a provision of negative marking of 0.25 from the allotted mark of each question on the wrong answer. Total time allotted is 120 minutes. 

Tier-3 Exam Pattern is:

Note:- There is a negative marking of 1/2 mark from the mark allotted to each question for each wrong answer. Tier-III is a Descriptive type offline test and is of the duration of 60 minutes (80 minutes for PWD).

Tier-4 Exam Pattern is:

Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test, which is conducted in two steps: DEST Test & CPT Test.

DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): Candidates are required to type 2000 words in the time duration of 15 minutes on a computer/laptop in English. The test is conducted to test the writing proficiency of the candidate.

CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): This test is conducted to check the proficiency of the candidate in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Generation of Slides

The admit cards for the exam are issued by the TA in online mode. The applicants can download the admit card on the official website. The applicants are able to download the admit card by using details such as registration number and date of birth. The steps required to download the admit card is as follows:
