West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:-
The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test is held in two-stage:
West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test Exam Pattern:
Written Test:- It is an Offline test. The total questions are 150 and the total marks are 150. The duration is 90 minutes for each part to complete the exam. The exam is Objective and Multiple Choice Type. There is no Negative Marking.

West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit: 18 - 35 years.
Educational Qualification:
For students who want to teach from class I to V:

Upper Secondary examination with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for Reserved Category)

Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks

2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) Or
-
Senior Secondary/ Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) Or
-
Senior Secondary/ Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and Diploma in Special Education, recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI) Or
-
Graduation and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED).
For Primary Teachers Class VI to VII:

Cleared their B.Sc/B.A or equivalent education

Ques 1. If I clear West Bengal TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply?
Ans: Applicants who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor's Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their West BengalTET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.
Ques 2. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for ST/SC?
Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category applicants have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.
Ques 3. What are the minimum marks to qualify?
Ans. The criteria for considering pass in West Bengal TET is as follows:
a) OC 60% Marks and above
b) BC 50% Marks and above
c) SC 40% Marks and above
d) ST 40% Marks and above
e) Differently-abled (PH) 40% Marks and above
Ques 4. I have done my BA with 48% and BEd with 70%. Am I eligible for the West Bengal TET?
Ans. Yes, you are eligible. Applicants having B.Sc/BA and appearing or cleared final 2 years B.A./ D.Ed./ B.Sc. with the 45% marks and applicants appearing in Senior Secondary/ B.Ed/ with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed is eligible.
Ques 5. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the West Bengal TET?
Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for West Bengal TET.
Ques 6. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?
Ans: Yes you are eligible. The applicants who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.
Ques 7. I am from Goa, am I eligible to apply for West Bengal TET?
Ans. No, only permanent residents from West Bengal are eligible to appear for TET.
Ques 8. Can a BCA student apply for West Bengal TET?
Ans. No, besides graduation, the candidates must also have done B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognized university.
Ques 9. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the West Bengal TET exam?
